Hi all,

I'm not clear if I need a reinforcement bracket for the spare tire. I'm thinking about getting 18" fuel wheel with Nitto Grappler tire. Do I need to get like a rough country bracket? is that necessary or is the door able to handle the weight?

there is no reinforcement bracket on a Sasquatch Bronco, and they come with 35" tires. So I'd say not likely needed.

Not necessary but not a bad idea either. Minimal but you’re replacing 1” of rubber with 1” of aluminum with bigger wheel. The bracket just really helps strengthen the tailgate from buckling

that's a good point, I'm getting a non-sas so unless there is some difference in the build between the two which is unlikely I'd say you're prob right

Grapplers are around 78 pounds and the rim is roughy 30 to 40 so technically I'm in the clear. This makes it easy, thank you all !!!

Dont forget leverage though..... The factory offset probably puts the wheel much closer to the tailgate, and I assume your new wheels will have an offset that puts the wheel further away from the mount. that will increase the forces on the tailgate.

IMO, a reinforcement is insurance. They are cheap compared to the damage that could be done. I went with a larger wheel and got the RC bracket (I had mine painted. Even if you leave it black, I would still paint it with automotive paint and clear it. Some of these have been said to have rust issues). Easy install and it was well under $200bucks.

I highly recommend it. My 35" covered up the rear brake light, but the rough country tire mount extends the light so it can be seen above the 35" spare tire.
