Hardly a Rival. Only the Wrangler is close to a Bronco with a removable roof and doors.

While the Jeep and the Bronco are probably most similar, I'd definitely argue a vehicle like a 4Runner will be cross shopped by many potential Jeep and Bronco buyers.

Ultimately if you want a body on frame offroad capable mid or compact SUV, there really are only a handful of options in the US right now (4Runner, Land Cruiser/GX, Bronco, and Wrangler).

Not all of us care that much about being able to take our roof or doors off. I owned a Wrangler for 4.5 years and took my roof off once. I have yet to pull anything off of my Bronco after 2500 miles of ownership either. Kind of sad since once I put my Trail Rax on this Friday, my rear is probably NEVER coming off (unless the MIC roof fails and needs replacement, hehe).

The bigger thing is that a TRD Offroad Premium 4Runner is now a $55K to $58K vehicle depending on the engine. Yes, it's been 8 years, but pretty amazing when I consider the MSRP of my 2016 Trail Premium was only $40K.

I am unimpressed with the price floor. Not overly surprised at the price ceiling, I guess what surprises me most is the overlap with the Land Cruiser....

Between the price overlap and the Land Cruiser not being 3rd row, or really bigger in any meaningful way (I know its a prado, but tophats are very flexible) is really perplexing to me... But I'm not a Toyota guy anyway so who cares.

Yes, but then you need to strap a jet engine to it, drive it off a cliff and try picking it up with an excavator by the hitch.
