Oh wow so the Falken in 38 is true to 38, that's good to know. I like that one because it is a D load; however I am considering the new Toyo RT Pro as well. I still got some time before, I do this. Do you recommend steering rack upgrade for this either the new Ford one or the 74 weld, also do you recommend getting the new aftermarket CV axles? When I do this I want to do it right the first time.
When I did my upgrades the ford performance rack hadn’t been out yet. If it had, I probably would have gone with that but I know a lot people have had issues with it, so do the research. I know there is some plug and play options now. I had gone with the stage 1 reinforcement of the rack from 74weld, no regrets. If/when I get a failure, I’ll upgrade. As far as CV’s, Accutune makes a good point, go with a shock designed within spec, you will have a lot less issues. The most cv’s and front diffs that I have seen broken in person is from someone on King shocks that wasn’t limited like what Accutune offers. I am more in the mindset of try to prevent catastrophic damage, but to expect damage and when it happens, upgrade at that point. Also will say that absolutely love the Falken R/T’s, will buy again.

What do you think about the new Toyo RT Pros?

I am not overly familiar with them, haven't seen them in person. They seem closer the M/T side of things than other R/T's. I have had many Falken Tires, loved them. Also had friends with Toyo, they loved them. I say get what works best for your use case. I have 40k miles on mine and still at 12/32, they start at 20/32

Yeah, I'm sure those RT01s are solid tires can't go wrong with them. I was feeding some detailed info about upgrading the suspension lift to Chatgpt lol and no matter how I word it, the answer is the same, it is recommending -6mm offset wheels if running 37x13.50 tires for optimal off-road clearance.

That’s interesting on the offset. Did you ask it about the deleterious effects of scrub radius? The problem, it seems, with artificial “intelligence” so far is the intelligence part. It’s as if chatgpt was the valedictorian straight-A student with commendations from the faculty for obedience and not questioning the ED curriculum. It has an impressive ability to spit out “memorized” information, but without the ability to interpret, utilize, or deviate from what is the most popular consensus. If most raptor owners are smashing the starbs drivethrough and saying -6mm offset is the best thing to do, that’s what chatgpt will tell you.

Or at least that’s what it seems like to me.

ChatGPT is awesome. I ask it everything. I have completely stopped thinking on my own. It makes every decision for me. No idea how I made it through life before.
Did chatgpt write this?

Well I asked it to give me the optimal wheel size and offset that is the most practical for properly clearing 37X13.50r17 tires in articulation and lock to lock in off camber off-road situations. No matter which tire I chose in 13.50 and if I assume JKS kit and all it always defaulted to -6mm offset. I even asked why and it kept talking about certain articulation angles in extreme cases that this is the best offset whereas anything more positive or negative is still doable but not optimal for clearance.

I did ask about scrub radius and it confirmed it's worse the more you go negative and that you need to beef up the steering system. It also said 74weld steering rack is good but may be overkill for East Coast offroading like Potts Mountain; however, it did say that Hoss 3.0 steering rack is more than enough for that tire setup at that wheel offset. I don't trust everything it says but no matter how many different ways I asked and how much detail I went into -6mm was the ultimate winner if you want to do 37x13.50.

I hear ya for sure. I guess the point I was making is that we still gotta do research on our own at this point rather than being able to rely on AI, as it might not provide useful information. When the AI results first started appearing as the default answer using google and safari, I didn’t realize that was the case. Definitely would have ordered the wrong OEM parts if it weren’t for people like @Ducati1098 helping us out with the correct part numbers.

When I asked why it kept saying assuming you want full articulation lock to lock without rubbing and if I will use the JKS kit and don't mind possibly trimming the rock sliders. When I suggested +6mm offset it said it may be too much and it can run the UCA and shocks in certain angles. Ultimately the question was asking the most practical off-road applied wheel offset in extreme conditions. All that damn thing did is confuse me even more lol, ai wish I never asked it anything.

Can’t say I’m a huge fan. But wifey did make a video of our dog where it looks like he’s talking. That was pretty awesome.
