Rides very tight. I haven’t been off road yet. I have portals on a Badlands with no lift. Gained about 3”. Just squeaks into my garage. Gratuitous action photo.

Looks good. Might be an optical illusion in photo but it only looks like you have less than 1 inch of travel judging from the exposed shock shaft in the front? Sag at right height seems like the shock is almost bottomed out.

Excuse my ignorance if I didn’t say all the right terms.

Up travel does seem limited based on the picture. We ran into the same problem with the Rock Krawler coilovers as we ran about a third of the recommended preload trying to get it to sit lower. Tested it out and we bottomed too easily. Had to bump up the preload to RK recommendations. Uptravel is about perfect now for our use (rocks) but the rig sits a couple inches higher. Just one of those things that happens with longer struts if you don’t change your shock towers out. (Attached picture is our original preload)

This is an optical illusion for most OEM fit coilovers. The lower spring perch is designed to have space on inside of it to allow the shock body to continue compressing. For Bronco's, a lot of these shocks will have shaft bumpers as well, so you may not be able to see the shock shaft through the drain holes in the lower spring perch.

Although this article & video are comparing Tacoma shocks specifically, I think it still helps show the quality we have to offer with Ride Shocks. Take a look and let us know what you think! Bronco specific article will come out later.

So with about 400 more miles and some moderately challenging trails (Bald Mountain and Swamp Lake in CA) I can for sure say they are too stiff for my liking.

I weigh 235 pounds, I can put my full weight on the front bumper and it does not sag even a fraction on an inch. Like the front end doesn't even twitch.

I tried adding 3-6 clicks up from full soft by suggestion from Ride. Brutal. I have no idea who would ever go full stiff but it's seriously like driving on steel rods instead of shocks.
Speaking of the click adjusters. They are vague and not at all clear how much you've adjusted them. I found I would have to constantly go back to full soft and try and count again because I wasn't sure how many "clicks" I had moved the dial.

So I'm on full soft and with 350 pounds of food and gear the ride goes from borderline intolerable to being merely too firm.

I'm scheduled for a 1,200 mile trip in the Nevada desert in Oct. That should be a good workout for them and if they aren't broken in by then I'll be taking them off and sent back to Ride to have them re-valved or something.

This makes me a bit nervous. I have the stock weight set en route now. Coming from Hoss 3.0 and those super soft Fox coilovers, I hope that these don’t end up being too stiff.

A couple days into them. Ran up to my cabin. Around town some. Seems the faster I go the better the feel. Going to adjust them some tomorrow so it sits about an inch lower.

And certainly keep the internet informed too! We’d like to hear what is changed and how things are affected

Not trying to be secretive in any way, but we also want to be respectful. Forums and social media posts can go sideways really quick, so I would like to avoid that here as much as possible. Honestly, I think thats why you wont see many manufactures on forums. 😬

Tough part is, ride quality is very subjective to your own personal experiences. Our lead engineer/tuning expert/owner has driven and tuned a massive variety of vehicles. What he may think rides "terrible" could be amazing to another person. Even without experience with aftermarket shocks, you could have the same impression. I've been fortunate enough to drive a lot of our vehicles before & after tuning and its pretty crazy what a few different shims can do to the performance of a vehicle. Its also nice to see what a new set of tires can do to ride quality.

Ride quality can also be affected by other upgrades that do not include shocks. For example: tire size, load range and pressure can play a huge factor in ride quality. Tires are the first thing that absorbs the terrain, then shocks & springs come second. There can be some other things as well, but thats for us to figure out as we dive deeper.

For what its worth, our Bronco is running stock weight Ride Shocks on it now with 37" BFG A/T, load range C at about 30 PSI. It's honestly been the most fun vehicle in our fleet to drive.

to be continued...

I got your calls. I'm in Hawaii for a few weeks and I'll call you when I get home.

Regarding tire pressure. I was at 10 psi last weekend and it's definitely the shocks
that are too firm. It is more the high speed hits/washboard type bumps that rattle my teeth.

Honestly I miss the Eibach Pro Truck coilovers I had on before. Yeah it made my Bronco look like it was doing the Carolina Squat when it was loaded with gear, but man did they ride nice.

So what I thought I was getting with the Ride shocks was the ability to have that soft ride and then adjust them when I needed to deal with added weight.
Maybe my expectations were misguided and that's the culprit and not the shocks.🤷‍♂️

I was more thinking along the lines of spreading knowledge and information rather than your suggesting any feedback be kept private.

As far as vendors on forums, you guys are doing a good job providing feedback and information, or clarification when issues are brought up. Whereas some others will choose to ignore questions or deflect when something is pointed out. If you’re a vendor suggesting that someone buys your 25 foot compressor extension that has even smaller wires than the original harness, then still using the original fuses and defending the product by saying the bigger wires are too hard to make work, you deserve to be dragged. So just do a good job, make good stuff, and you’ll be fine!

I’m likely the idiot on the room here regarding suspensions. My question for those that have already done the install us did you mess with the pre-load adjusters or simply bolt these on and go? @AccuTune Offroad for yours, did you lower or raise yours much to soften the tide? I’ll be running the same tires for mine.

Forums are a great place to learn new things from others with experience. Now, trusting the source and where that information came from is a different story.

Raising or lowering ride height, within reason, is not going to have a big affect on ride quality. Our Bronco is mostly stock, so I believe no adjustments were made from how they come out of the box.

We have target numbers to hit in our setup guide depending on which springs/shocks you get.

For example, the diagrams below show our target, min and max lengths we recommend for the coilovers, when they are installed, on level ground and settled.
