I saw these shocks in person and asked a lot of questions regarding the fluid used vs King or Fox, the size of the hose diameter and how they comes into play with fluid flow and translating that to performance, how they tune the suspension and much more. I was very impressed. I have the Kings now and am very happy. However, I’m planning a massive 500 mile off-road trip from Reno To Vegas following the Vegas 500 route this October

I’m thinking about snagging a set of these purely to see how they perform alongside King. I’m really bad about keeping the same setup long term and like to try new shiny things to see how they do. It will be awhile but I’ll report back with my findings.

You can go for a spin in mine and see if you like them.
Are you going to post that Reno to Vegas trip on Gold Country?

Unfortunately not, though maybe in the future. I want to Pre run it with a small group first. Gas is scarce and about 200 miles in between stops. Gonna make a video about it and trying to bring some friends from SoCal if they can make it.

The cool thing about these shocks is the red anodized aluminum which is the quickest to fade and turns to pink.
Probably in a year or so I'm gonna have pink shocks.
The red looks very good. But maybe they will over different colors. I would dump all my cash if they came in Gold color. Black would be close second.

Question, why not use a stainless steel hose vs a rubber hose for the res to dissipate heat a little better? Excuse my ignorance.
Heat isn't too much of a concern. The oil we are using has a high tolerance for heat and cavitation. and we are flowing a ton of oil through these shocks when cycling. These are massive -10 hydraulic hoses and shouldn't be an issue.

Acutune would you be willing to post pictures of cv angles at full droop with the Ride Shocks installed? Just curious what kind of angle they are at. I’ve seen some aftermarket shocks really mess up cvs.

Thanks!
Well, I had a chance to snap a quick photo. This is at full droop. Both tires spin freely with no binding what so ever.

I am personally not a fan either. Would much rather have the correct upgraded parts. This is on my wishlist at least, so until Santa visits me, its going to stay like that. Unless someone wants to sponsor us!

To be fair, this is how it came when we purchased from a good friend of ours. 😬

Just need to keep the extended length less than the danger zone. I am sure they have that figured out. My X-ray vision can’t tell if the CV is binding in this pic. šŸ˜‚
We like to live life dangerously, but when it comes shocks & performance we tend to be extremely detailed.

Our extended lengths vs other brands:
RIDE: 24.30"
Fox: 24.26"
King: 24.60" <-- danger zone, which is why we strongly recommend a .30" shaft spacer to be added.

If you take them off I’ll send you a factory 2.0 inner to keep as a spare. You’ll be the second rig I’ve sponsored. šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰

If nothing else remove them to preserve your credibility (and get an actual pic of CV angle)

Thanks for the offer! I'd rather run upgraded parts that will last vs carry spares. Plenty of experience with that on my personal rig. I've wanted to ditch these for a while now, so maybe with enough encouragement I can make that happen.

The biggest thing I tried to tell people is why waste money on stuff like that when you can buy these for 50 bucks and accomplish the same end result. For 400 bucks you can buy 3 sets of stock replacements tie rods and still be ahead.

but they do NOT have the magical physics defying square cross-section. Only the best for me. I am starting to think $400 is a bargain for defying physics.
