Need some reasonable cost lights for cornering in pitch black conditions. I can’t see left or right in a 90 degree turn thru tint well. Do I want them on the cowl or in front of wheels pointing sideways? Reasonable cost means something good, good finish quality. But top of line is overkill. Not some no name where someone starts a parts biz in garage with Chinese stuff. If on cowl is the best place, then I prefer something on smaller size 3-4 inches. Thanks.

You’ll probably want what is often referred to as “ditch lights”. As the name implies they’re intended to help you see the ditches that often run along the side of the road, but they can easily be used for cornering as well. They typically get installed on the cowl on the accessory-ready points, but you can put them on the bumper as long as you have mounts for them.

“Reasonable” is different for different people, but I personally have these from Heretic. Assembled in the USA, and because of that… probably a little more on the pricey side, although I’ll admit I didn’t do much price shopping. Ford also sells a kit if you have a bunch of FordPass points doing nothing. And of course @4x4TruckLEDs.com, @Baja Designs, and others have a handful of options available.

Probably want a cowl mount if it's for turning - bumper mount and you'll miss illuminating a lot of what you're about to turn into (unless you have it pointed a full 90' out or something)

Many good ditch light kits out there. The two big vendors on the forums are SPV and 4x4TruckLEDs - both are very active around here if you wanted to ping them.

Can't go wrong with the brand names really - Baja Designs, Diode Dynamics, KC, Heretic, Rigid, etc. And they have models that are reasonable, and some that are premium top shelf - just a matter of what you are looking for.

https://www.4x4truckleds.com/vehicle-specific/ford/ford-bronco/2021-bronco/

A couple of examples of entire kits, but really you just need the bracket, and then a light - which you can purchase separately if you don't see the exact kit you are looking for:
https://www.4x4truckleds.com/diode-dynamics-stage-series-ss3-ditch-light-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/
https://specialtyperformanceparts.com/products/slimlite®-led-2-light-system-ditch-light-kit-for-21-ford-bronco?_pos=16&_sid=b5a54f163&_ss=r

I put Diode Dynamics "Pro" series (middle of the line) in my fog light kit - they are brighter than my high beams. By a considerable amount.

I went with the rigid ditch lights from ford. Bought with ford pass points (if you have them) so no real money. They have a decent flood on them and also help with the pesky asses that don't dim their lights. :)

But top of line is overkill.

I've never once in my entire life been sorry for buying the best, but I've been sorry many times for trying to save a few dollars only to be disappointed and have to start over and re-buy....

Buy the best (the first time)..........

Good luck

.

Whatever light you buy, I'd recommend these DV8 ditch light brackets. The antenna mount was just a nice bonus.

I just installed them this weekend, and combined with the Baja Designs S2 light on the lower mount point, they blend right in with the mirror arm and 'disappear'. I don't have lights on the top mounting spot, so I can't really even see my lights from the drivers position which I like, but they light up my corners great.

You'll get a lot of responses, and everyone has reasons why they like what they like.

Between my Ridgid triple lights in the fog location and the Ford performance Ridgid ditch lights, I can see really well, made a huge difference.

And although not the most expensive way to go, certainly not budget friendly either, even buying all with Black Friday sales.

I love my lights, the way they look, and how well they work, for me it had to hit both those marks.

Bottom line, set a budget, find a look you'll be happy with, make sure they'll meet your needs and expectations for lighting ( enough lumens, spot pattern, and distance) and then expexct to spend more than you budgeted because of wiring harnesses and all that fun stuff.

Lighting can be an overpriced free-for-all, that's just nature of the beast. But it's up to you what it's worth.

I would recommend some SAE fogs mounted up front to start…they will be the most helpful in more situations…I went for DD ones for quality and price, they are bright and project to the sides well…there a a few cheaper ones out there: https://www.superbrightleds.com/3-l...lights-up-to-1-500-lumens-6500k-single-2-pack but at some point ya get what ya pay for…if that does’t do it for ya, you can add some cheap ditch lights pointed farther out…good luck!

I understand your statement. I bought a Badlands. That’s not top of the line either but you have to draw the line. Sometimes top of the line is just bells and whistles. I just want a good light.

Those look nice, but I literally want to see sideways. To they turn a little more sideways.

Buying the best does not usually equal buying the most expensive.

And best is a very relative term, best for you is the important part.

In the past there were times I felt I overpaid for somethings, and other times I feel like I got incredible value out of inexpensive alternatives.

Value and Price often do not go hand in hand.

Depends what you really want. Do you want on-road fog lights or off-road lights?

Check out our site for on-road street legal fogs and off-road a-pillar lights + other lights
