Worth it just to get the painted flares. the black rubbermaid flares on the Raptor are F.U.G.L.Y.

I have come to the conclusion that the painted flares (especially on the lighter colors) just don’t look as good as the black flares. Color-matched flares and roof make it look more like a “soccer mom” vehicle.

Warthog was designed to be over-the-top, in both performance and design, not to blend in with every other SUV out on the road. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I’m guessing many who dislike the black flares either don’t own a Warthog (think sour grapes) or have not been up close with a Warthog in person. From a design standpoint, it makes a lot more sense when you see the vehicle in real life.

probably not i would think ford would only do a like for like swap when it comes to warranty work.

I'm seeing the painted top on various models today. Here it is on the Badlands.

Weird thing though, they are now showing 2 different MIC tops. One is carbonized gray, the other maybe a black???

While I've never thought the black flares looked bad, I've also always been a bigger fan of them painted.

I think what kills it for me is the number of different colors on the vehicles with unpainted flares.

Like you have a gray top, gray grille, silver bash plate, black textured trim, and then a different black for the flares. All that on top of the body color.

If they matched the grille and top they might would've looked better to me.
