Taking the Badlands on a 5 week tailgate tent camping trip out west. Have Jackery generator and are thinking of buying a small Bodega or BougeRV 12V refrigerator/freezer dual zone cooler. Can you run AC powererd devices within the Bronco with an adapter? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Plug into the 12-volt outlet and it’ll run your device for up to one hour after you turn your vehicle off

I’m confused by the question. Doesn’t your Jackery have 120V AC ports built in?

Yes it does. I phrased the question wrong. As you can see I don't know a thing about electrical devices. Is the Bronco power source equipped with a AC inverter. Some of the campgrounds don't allow generators.

Now I may be confused. The Jackery really isn't a generator, it is a battery box with a built in inverter to supply 120V. So it will be fine in any campground, because it makes no noise. It will need to be recharged periodically by plugging it in to 120V somewhere, solar or a charger off your vehicle.

I always thought these companies using the word generator was misleading, now I see it is.

Note: Use 12V accessories when possible, more efficient since the Jackery doesn't have to use the inefficient inverter to get up to 120V

The Jackery likely can be charged via the 12v outlet. I can do that with my Bluetti.

The built-in inverter in the Bronco (only found on some trims) is only about 400W - it probably won't run your refrigerator. It's more ment for charging phones, powering laptops and lights, and maybe a few other light duty tasks.

A Jackery is essentially the same thing, only it has it's own built-in battery and comes in ratings big enough to darn near run your entire house if you wanted to. A big enough model can absolutely run your refrigerator, for a limited time - based largely on which model you buy and how much battery life it has.

You can recharge a Jackery with either an add-on solar panel (it's pretty slow), a 110 outlet (charges fastest this way, but not your Bronco inverter - it won't have enough power), or some have a 12V DC port meant to plug into a cigarette lighter, like the power point in the cargo bay (charges faster than a solar panel, but not exactly ~fast~)

Look at the watt output and the wattage of the accessories, that’ll tell you. The watthours of the Jackery will tell you how long at that watts.

LOL, this is why we need a Powerboost Bronco with the 7.2kw inverter... No generator here, just my Bronco...

Talk about a stupid rule, no generators, what's next no engine in your vehicle? As long as unicorn farts are allowed, I guess we'll have to just power everything with them and rainbows.

Your best option at that point, is a larger inverter and a battery bank that can meet your usage. We all know a good lithium fire is a better alternative to a generator.

Some campgrounds allow during certain hours, few forbid totally. I have RV camped for years and seldom need or run the generator. Modern campers have good 12 volt system that will run everything but a microwave or AC. I'm lucky to camp where I seldom need AC, but we sold our previous 10 year RV with 29 hours on the generator.

In defense of the rules, nothing more annoying than a loud generator running all day in an otherwise peacefull campground.

And again, for the OP a Jackery type system is not a generator

Thank you everyone for all your information. I never realized the Jackery wasn't a generator. I will continue to research this. It seems I have a lot to learn.

Get some solar panels for your Jackery and or learn how to charge it from the Bronco power outlet. If your fridge is 12v run it off the Bronco when driving. Use 12v accessories with the Jackery when possible. Keep use of 120v to a minimum, running power through the inverter is in efficient and wastes power as heat, also forcing the Jackery fan to run, further eating power.

Seems like a dB limit would solve the problem of loud generators. I can find loud generators annoying as well, which is precisely why I purchased a very quiet one today. If it were not for CO output, I could probably run it in the camper and it would be less noisy than the AC unit in my camper.

How is it NOT a generator; it generates power, just like a gas generator, only instead of gas it runs on solar when out in the boonies (or an electrical outlet when one is available). I know there are 2 camps on this, but since it does exactly what a gas generator does, minus the noise, it's a generator!
