Hey all - I'm looking for something like the Golight GT or something, basically a spotlight that can move using a handle or motors from inside the cabin. I used to drive a retired police interceptor utility and I miss having a spotlight! I loved using it for spotting deer at night and camping. Any recommendations?

Black Oak used to have one but I am not seeing it on their site now.

Bro I read this title and thought you misspelled "possible"

So I came in to roast you.

But I have nothing helpful to offer, and I'll see myself out.

Thanks. Was easier than making the title "light pods that you can tilt and rotate and stuff but primarily if you're inside the cabin and the light is outside of the cabin via a remote or wired cointroller of sorts." :ROFLMAO:

I know what you mean. I loved the rooftop one on a Suburban I drove.

Do a google search for remote controlled spotlight. There are many on the market. Boaters use them a lot. None have the internal handle like the old school spotlights, some are wireless, but they'll serve the same function, just not as conveniently.

I decided not to get one because of the extra height. I may get one that can be mounted temporarily.

ARGES by Whelen was one of the ones I was looking at when I wanted a movable one. Expensive but quality and not obnoxiously large. @KT_bronco has one.

It's held up well and still works despite me being on many dusty trails and power washing the thing numerous times. The dv8 mount was a lucky find as its wide enough to be able to mount the thing.

Install was fairly easy. The inside control unit is a bit cheap and mine got dust in it which made the turning thing feel gritty but it was an easy disassembly and cleaning.

Total light output is a bit lacking in this unit, wish it had more lumens frankly. Overall I recommend it. Def not a need as a modern flashlight will probably outperform it.

Man, that's disappointing about the light output. Was hoping a usable output amount in addition to the directionality of the beam. I wonder how hard it might be to replace the light head with something like a DD or BD light.

I guess my Baja Designs S2 and Diode Dynamics SS3 Pros were a good choice after all, even though they're fixed in place.
