I could make a new post with a link to the Raptor video we made, and give a time stamp. I discuss it a little in that video. It’s definitely an issue for those of us using the platform.
I love it. I could do it too but it seems like it would be better coming from someone with actual experience bending bolts rather than the build that did it as a preventative measure 👊🏼

Absolutely necessary even if just running larger tires. I bent 2 upper bolts before the portals😬
Is that mostly with aftermarket uppers because they have spherical ends vs fixed like stock? A spherical supported on only one side will definitely bend a bolt easier than a fixed bushinged ca would I think. Agree there needs to be a thread on this.

It doesn’t matter what arm you have in there, it’s a matter of leverage against one bolt where there should be 2 bolts. I’ll try and make a post on this soon, but this week is hectic with the holiday.

Curious about this 4 link rear. how to keep the rotational forces at bay (Moments generated by offset of CG and roll center). ? Also reaction forces that are now carried by the links? And forces at frame mounts? Looks like the upper links are bent to accommodate the oem frame mounts but then they will induce bending in the link when resisting lateral loads. As opposed to a straight link which can be much stiffer. Is a rear sway bar the only load path that will help with these rotational forces?

not trying to be an ass, just curious about the details and consequences. Maybe the rotational forces are not that large with the roll center pushed up a bit. But we’re always fighting the increased CG due to bigger and bigger lift. 🤷‍♂️ haven’t done any detailed look into this but curious about your thoughts on this.

Installed the Pro X on my 2022 Badlands. While articulation is improved, there are negative side effects, as with most lift upgrades. I have Icon 2.5 VS shocks with longer travel and this apparently was outside the test limits of the Pro X according to Rock Krawler. With this length of travel, the drive shaft hits gas skid. I have seen others with same issue. Only wheeled with Pro X once and drive shaft is now bent and out of alignment. Once I heard contact I wheeled out and home. Collin County Off Road is ordering Adams replacement shaft. Just posting so others are aware that Pro X may require smaller diameter drive shaft and gas skid trimming for clearance. And will not know if that is enough till work is done.

The Adams Driveshaft driveshaft fixed the issue on ours, but yeah-the lateral movement of the axle is real.

Nice to see Adams shaft fixed yours. Gives me more confidence I am on right track. :) I also see you have Next Venture diff skid. I am getting that since it covers the yoke/flange, which should stop drive shaft or yoke from hitting the gas tank skid even in extreme circumstance. Diff skid will hit first. Thanks for reply.
