No, it's not a big deal, you're just being hard on yourself.

When I bought my first new truck (new vehicle) in 2010, the FIRST DAY I was getting in and awkwardly scraped the bezel of my watch on my driver side window. Left a big ol' mark on the glass, only some of which came off. I was so annoyed!! I couldn't believe I did that. For about two weeks, saw it every time I got in.

Then I basically forgot about. Went and got tint about six months later and totally forgot, accused them of messing up over the phone, then remembered as I turned into their parking lot. Just kept on driving... lol

To this day, under that tint, it's still there but I never notice it, although it's right in my field of vision when I look out the window.

I think you can buy a new cover part, but believe me, that is not worth it (cost-wise or what if the install isn't perfect? They mess something else up? 🤷‍♂️ ). Sometimes life is just about learning to let it go.

Thanks for being so nice about it. Great point. If it was my older car I know I wouldn't care so much. I thought my husband might get mad, but he said "well, now you're ready to use it the way it's meant to be used". :ROFLMAO:

Oh yeah, I've done far worse damage taking it off road... 😱 lol

I bet. We also have a CJ that we've taken on the Rubicon twice and did some pretty decent damage - this one's too pretty for that just yet.

Well, the dust will probably obscure it in 3... 2... 1...

Is the dash one of those rubbery-type materials? I just had an idea that might work if you're careful enough - silicone caulking. Find the closest color match available, tape off everything except for the crack, and put just enough to level it out. You can try to match the texture after but it might not be noticeable even if you don't. If you use paintable silicone you can also mix some paint and touch it up carefully to blend it in even more

Thanks for the idea. It is kind of rubbery - maybe vinyl over the plastic? I really have no idea what it's made of.

Makes me sick to my stomach to post an epoxy video. 😂

So I made a bad move and mounted a phone holder to my dash, on a brand new Bronco, not realizing it would leave a big indent/gash in the material (where it's semi soft). Does anyone have any suggestions of how I might be able to fix it?

I've attached a pic below.
I don't believe that you stand one chance in a million of repairing that in any way that wouldn't make it more obvious (so you're saying there's a chance!). Also, the way these dash pads are designed I do not believe it is possible to recover them (that outer surface is permanently affixed to the foam substrate beneath). On the positive side, it's really not that bad a mark. Being parallel to the edge helps. However, if it really bothers you, one of the other posters posted a link to some cover alternatives that might be acceptable. Also, I thought the suggestion of the hair dryer approach might work (but this might also cause the edges of the cut to curl upward too much and probably make it worse). Finally, probably your most affordable and most satisfying solution would be to replace the pad entirely. But to do that you'll want to find it in a salvage yard (the process of which might be far more hastle than anyone would want to suffer) because buying from a dealership will cost hundreds of dollars more than it is worth. Is this a fair summary of your options? Hope so. Good luck and let us know how it all worked out.

Does anyone happen to have the part number for the soft 2024 Badlands dash? Thanks!
