No, it's not a big deal, you're just being hard on yourself.
When I bought my first new truck (new vehicle) in 2010, the FIRST DAY I was getting in and awkwardly scraped the bezel of my watch on my driver side window. Left a big ol' mark on the glass, only some of which came off. I was so annoyed!! I couldn't believe I did that. For about two weeks, saw it every time I got in.
Then I basically forgot about. Went and got tint about six months later and totally forgot, accused them of messing up over the phone, then remembered as I turned into their parking lot. Just kept on driving... lol
To this day, under that tint, it's still there but I never notice it, although it's right in my field of vision when I look out the window.
I think you can buy a new cover part, but believe me, that is not worth it (cost-wise or what if the install isn't perfect? They mess something else up?). Sometimes life is just about learning to let it go.
