I was told recently that Ford is absolutely buried with warranty work. A lot of vehicles coming back for repeat warranty work. Parts issues and poor quality control during builds.

I recently upgraded my speakers and upgraded my R/T/B lights to LED as well as my backup lights. The process included the removal of several panels and trim pieces that are held together with nothing more than plastic clips. It would appear to me that some of these vehicles were just slapped together and sent down the line. Some clips were missing, some broken and some were bent over after missing the guide hole. The dumbest clip ever made has to be the push in clip with the plastic phillips screw. I don't care how delicate you are, they do not thread out. I replace them with the friction fit plugs that can easily be removed with the trim removal tool.
Hi Larry. I have Jeeps also and of course belong to several forums. You hear the same thing whether it's a Jeep, Ford, Toyota, etc. Fortunately I have a dealer that has Ford and CDJR and they are phenomenal. Been going there 15 years and know most of the staff regardless of department!

That would be in good old Branson, Mo.

I’ve got an issue with my bumper sensors going off in stop and go traffic. Sometimes even if no one around me. I’ve turned them off in the menu to no avail. I called for a service appointment to get fixed and it’s almost five weeks out. That means driving for another five weeks with those annoying sensors going off constantly. That’s ridiculous. Anyone else seeing such long waits for service or is it just my area in Georgia.
My son's Focus just spent 10 days at an Atlanta area Ford dealer for a battery and battery cable. The bill was almost $600. I'd avoid the dealer for anything other than warranty work.

K, talked to a few techs. They said to check and make sure the sensors/bezels are all pointed at the same angle. If the sensors were moved, they could of been put in upside down. I think it's the bezel they clip in that angles them in the right direction.

For what it's worth I only us my local Lincoln dealer for my Ford's. I've been really happy with them, can't stand our Ford dealer.

Also for your sensor issue, I wonder if it would be better to turn them off in Forscan.

You can't put a price on a great dealership. I have been a "Ford Guy" for most of my life. My first job out of high school was at a local Ford dealership; new/used car prep, stereo installs, (they were much easier in the 80's) and some light electrical work. Although not the same dealership, we are on out 14th or 15th vehicle from "my" dealership. I had a Sport-Trac, Bronco II, Ranger extra cab, another Bronco II, a Fusion, an Explorer, a Bronco Sport, an F-150 Raptor and now my Bronco. Never, ever have I felt I got screwed by them. My salesman, the sales manager, the General Manager, the service writers and even the girls in the office have become personal friends. I graduated with the body shop manager. I would never even consider going anywhere else for a new vehicle. You can't put a price on that. I feel bad after reading some of the war stories on this and other forums. (Queensbury, NY)

Yeah, wait time is insane, I live in the PNW and my front diff has a small leak, 7 weeks out just to look at it at 3 local ish dealerships, and they want me to leave it there for ford to approve the warrantee work with 30k miles on it. I said F that, spent 20 minutes and 20 dollars on the gasket and all good. Oh, and diff fluid for sure needed changing, so I did that and the rear diff, and the xfer case and engine fluid while I was at it. Total time about 90 minutes..... For those interested, both diffs looked pretty dark, xfer case still looked great. But I will say the xfer case seams to work smoother and not bind anymore now that I put mobile 1 synthetic 95w120 in it.....

Wow, I'm a native New Yorker.... Saratoga and Albany! I worked in New York City for a number of years and the Long Island dealerships are barely customer service oriented.
We are two lucky folks to have good dealerships!

Take care Larry!

Oh, ok. I wonder if you got betrayed by an OTA update. That’s always my fear.
It did seem to happen after an update. So I’m hoping they can go in and shut them off.

You mentioned shutting them off in the menu, but what about the button? I have to turn mine off on trails or it drives me nuts. It would be annoying needing to hit it every time you get in the car, but it's better than having to actually listen to them while you wait for your service appt.

My dealer here is only one week out for appointments. Just scheduled a service yesterday for oil change/tire rotation, etc, for next week. 5 weeks is too much.
I didn’t even know there was a button to do that. Always went into the menu. Where is it??

By the center controls/HVAC panel where the camera and auto start/stop buttons are. The next one over is the parking sensors. Should be a P and a cone shape.

Edit to add Google photo, circled button.

Got it . Thanks. That works but you have to do it every time you start the vehicle, but at least I don’t have to listen to it now until I take it in.
