Got the same form letter. Even less helpful than the "product strategy" or whatever they were shovelling last time. I would be less offended if they just said "We do not care, get bent."
I'd like to know the real reason for dropping rev matching. Was it really about emissions/economy, or instead some mechanical/wear concern. I would have liked rev matching for my other household drivers who don't always do so well downshifting.

That's kinda why this response is so unsatisfying for me. "Optimizing the driving experience" or "product strategy" is just opaque corpo-speak that says nothing at all. What would make them take such a drastic step and absolutely stonewall any possibility of rolling it back?

I’m glad I never bought the Ford tune.

My 2.3 with 4.46 gears makes plenty of power as is, my whole desire for the tune was to get rev matching, which I think is very cool.

Oh well, Ford Corporate FAIL.

you’re missing out. The HP and Torque increase is extremely noticeable, like the same power as the the 2.7. Added a pedal commander throttle controller and it’s surprisingly responsive.

rev match was the icing. I never thought I would like it till I used it a while

I guess if I never update the FP tune, I will keep the rev matching and ASS. Ive had it on my 21 since they first came out. TBH, I’ve been just holding out until real custom tuning options happen for the 2.3, Via Cobb or someone else. Would love to do downpipe, intercooler, intake or whatever and custom tune 93 and E85 blends.

I wonder with the new EPA stuff out of the current admin, if the rev match feature can return? Anyone know who at Ford to ask?

I just picked up a 2025 Big Bend/Black Diamond 7MT and it 100% has rev matching in its stock configuration. I thought I was bugging out. But, it most certainly is raising RPMs during downshift. The new 2.3L mated with this transmission is a dream. I can’t explain it - but, it’s incredibly responsive and has zero lag. I’m coming from a 2021 with early Procal.

Just got a recent build ‘25 and it does not rev match.
I’ll have to get some video. Mine is a bit of a rare specimen. It was a Dearborn MI Ford driven vehicle sold on internal auction. Driven 8200 miles during one month April-May. Valenti Ford in CT purchased it. That’s where I got it today.

I don’t understand myself…I guess I need more time behind the wheel.

Mine blips the throttle when you let the clutch out so you don’t have to give it any gas pedal to get it moving, but if you’re cruising along in fifth gear, for example, and downshift into fourth gear the engine does not rev up to the proper RPMs for fourth gear rev matching. I wish it did and hopefully they will bring it back someday.

Hmm…yeah, mine seemed like it was revving up. I couldn’t have been imagining it. Maybe its just such a different combo/experience I’m overthinking it.

The 800 rpm from stop is a nice feature - but, not what I’m talking about.

I must be mistaken about the rev match. But, something is just so different about how the engine and transmission are talking to each other. I can’t put my finger on it. I look forward to more time behind the wheel tomorrow. I’ll report back.

Ok, I was bugging. I think it was just all of the excitement about the 2025 upgrades in general. It definitely is a much nicer engine/trans combination. Can't wait to get my Steeda Clutch Spring back in action.
