It’s not that you won’t or can’t hit your head with these in an accident, it’s that those odds of it actually happening are extremely low. For most of us, we don’t live life based on those type of odds.

Problem with these types is there too high and should you be using them in a roll over situation your fingers are going to get chopped off between the handle and the hard top or ground if you have the top off.

I bought the OP's handles and was disappointed in how close they were to the top, couldn't get my fingers all the way through. I milled wedge washers to angle them slightly down and now they work great. I don't use them for getting in but they are great for stabilization, far enough away not to be a hazard. Weird things happen in crashes so only 5 point harness is truly safe.

Bartact.com has great grabs... plus door pockets and such... easy to grab onto entering the truck and for those 'wicked' turns/hills/valleys and OS's!

simple and clean plus they come with a high density foam where you put your arm for comfort and heat insulation (not shown on the picture), yes for some reason parked on a sunny day they get very hot.

This is a nonsensical statement. All of these handles attach utilizing stock bolt locations. The stock bolts do not magically allow the plastic to release in the event of an accident. The plastic is simply pushed out of the way when the airbag inflates. Installing grab handles will not affect this.

Again, the bolts do not and will not magically release in the event of an accident. So no, they will not turn into projectiles.

I’d love a handle here but I’m torn. The airbag will release but you’ll be in a world of hurt if you’re holding that handle when it does - regardless if if it’s a rigid handle or not. Now, prolly not an issue during daily driving because thats not a natural driving position but you put it on the lid crawling and your passenger will likely have their hand there through that process. If broncobuster has thought us anything its that airbags deploy when you roll it.
