Nail in tire in terrible spot - patch, replace one, or all?

Even if you cannot plug it, replacing just that one is completely fine. 1 to 2 32" difference is a problem for some true awd cars, particularly subarus. It is not a concern in the bronco. You should have no reservations running tires with a 2-3/32" difference.

My tire guy uses a patch like the ones in the picture. He preps the inside of the tire with a grinder, gets everything nicely covered in glue, then pulls the patch into place. It looks sturdier to me than just a sheet rubber patch.

My wife’s car got a big nail really close to the edge, so tire needed to be replaced. Car was basically new, so no concern about wear disparity, but they were the factory tires and the only place I could find a replacement was a dealer.

What everybody had said. Plug/patch and put on as spare and take it out of rotation. replace all 5 next time.

That's good to hear - I had heard that as well but wasn't sure really how much of a good idea it was to mess with that vs. play it safe!
