I received & installed mine today. Quality is very good, though everything smelled like a camp fire for some reason 🤷‍♂️
Installation is a fun time if the hard top is on & your hands are bigger than your average 10 year old 😏
Once installed, I quickly found it is not going to work for what I had planed as I suspicioned; which was my tent, poles & sleeping pad. The poles will fit but why bother 🤔. I was able to stuff my Max Ax w/ tool heads, collapsible toilet, 100 ft. winch ext. & with a lot of effort the privacy tent for showers & previously mentioned toilet. It's nice to get some of the seldom used stuff up & out of the way & always have it with me. As advertised, there is no obstruction to your view, which was important to me. This also works fine with my Diabolical enclosure & my chairs that I always carry.
For me, I think it will be a forgotten accessory until I need one of the items up there, but it's nice to know it's always packed.
YMMV 🤠

I installed mine yesterday, absolutely love it! The hard top made it challenging but not really hard to install at all. Solid and sturdy, no squeaks or noise. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it.

The TLP will not fit all the way in with the shelf in the down position. I just lift and slightly move the top back on the TLP. Not as convenient as it once was but I don’t regret getting the attic shelf at all.

Hi BD6G,

Do you have a 4 door with the smaller cap or a 2 door ? Do you just lift the cap from the outside to slide it onto the TLP ? Looks like the vertical bars hit the shelf, is that the case ? Thoughts on removing the shelf to use the TLP, is that quickly doable ?

Edited to add if I’m by myself then I sit inside the rear lift up and push back onto the TLP.
I have a 4 door using the smaller cap no extensions on the TLP. The vertical bars is what hits so I tuck it in to that point and then just lift and slide it on (about 3/4 inches) and it is good. Occasionally if my son is home I’ll just have him lift it off with me and set it on the TLP. Doing it either of those ways is a lot quicker than trying to remove the shelf first then using the TLP. It is a small inconvenience but I would absolutely buy the attic tray again it’s not that big of an overall issue to/for me.

Thanks BD6G. Do you sit in the back seats to lift the cap or do you sit in the cargo area to lift it ? Not too sure the TLP and my ass would both fit in the cargo area !! LOL

lol I’m a big boy myself at 6’3 260 but I sit in the cargo area to do it. It makes it quick and easy. The toughest part is I’m not as limber as I once was so navigating in and out is the toughest part

Quick update as I spent a little bit of money yesterday moving closer to a solution. I stumbled on the OSD roll bar protectors, which have cutouts for the mounting holes. I ordered them from @StickerFab last night.
https://www.stickerfab.com/products...2022-2023-up-anti-roll-beam-guard-accessories

$35 feels like money well spent to get what will be a location reference template to drill those first holes. Between this, the brackets in the attic shelf kit, and the measurements that you found/posted here I should be able to pull this together without much issue.

I hope to have time for this in the next month or so.
Oh that is genius as it has the cutouts for where the holes would be, it would be easier to cut the locations and install the rivnuts.

So it is you, the TLP and the shelf in the down position all in the cargo area ? Did you remove the alignment pins on the cap so you can just lift and slide or do you have to lift the cap until you clear the pins and then move the top ?
I really want the shelf but just can't envision all the contorting to get the damn cap off !! LOL

Guide pins are still there I did not remove those. So I lift it up and slide it back. It only takes a couple/few inches (that’s what she said) to get it on the TLP ready to crank a slight bit more then move. It actually sounds a lot worse than it is. The majority of time I just have my son come out and we do a quick lift from both sides and set it on the TLP so I don’t have to contort myself.

Thanks BD6G !
I don't have the option of having someone help me lift it and slide it back on the TLP so will need to be doing this myself. You have me thinking it doesn't sound as tough as it seems but just lifting the top with the TLP is still a little bulky to me.

Anybody that has this, have you attempted to mount traction boards to the attic tray on the underside? Wonder if their design allows this. Thanks.

You can mount anything you want on the underside, as long as the width between the roll bars doesn't prevent it.
