Looks really good, great job! Super glad you're happy with the result.

So it's a gel coat filler, if you buff and wax it you'll get rid of some of the haze and it will look darker.

Love to see the forum working like it should, helping other people out. Seems like we all get into argue mode a lot (especially me), it's super great to see a good result like this every once in a while.

I just got back from the car wash and started packing for a trip. Noticed this when I opened the hatch. Pretty sure it wasn’t there last night (when I cleaned all the windows), but that’s a different topic.

Has anyone repaired a hard top with similar damage? How do I keep it from getting worse? What else should I be worried about(water getting in?)? I’m really hoping it’s not toast.

Yes, it's quite repairable, you can search my story on 6g on my repair of a damaged top in fall of 2021. It depends on how nice you want it to look. West Systems epoxy with graphite powder is a fairly close color match. So is the gray JB Weld tube. Mask the area, clean & sand. Apply and carefully fair (sand). A couple of coats of an automotive clearcoat will help protect the Epoxy, which in NOT UV stable.

Will that work with coated cardboard? It is for fiberglass. if that would work you could do a fiberglass repair. It might be time to pony up and get an aftermarket top. 🤷‍♂️
There is a cardboard core, something aircraft also have used, but there is plenty of material of the top for Epoxy repairs to stick to, as long as some of it is pushed below the surface of the top during the repair.

Yep, that's the one that normally gets pulled off by dealers as soon as they arrive, when it really should stay on until delivery prep. I think I've seen ONE still on the vehicle.

They really do want you to hand wash them, because they KNOW they're fragile.
