When you buy the oem winch mount it comes with around 16 heavy duty steel frame reinforcements that are BEHIND the bumper out of sight to handle the loads of a winch, even the tow loops are replaced for stronger ones. How does the mounts that you installed work with winch loads without the Additional reinforcements?
this also requires horn reinforcements, which they sell separately or you can use another brand.

Why am I only seeing Jeeps on the Maximus-3 pages?

Is there a Bronco fitment or are you just making it work?

I have the Un-Capable plastic bumper so lookign for winch options.

I’m pretty sure the removable winch is only for the capable bumper at the moment. I really like the removable aspect of it, I’ve been looking for a removable saddle from my wrangler too and I’m surprised this isn’t really a thing from what I’ve seen. I haven’t been able to find one for a wrangler besides an ugly tow hitch style.

Not sure about the 16 heavy duty steel frame reinforcements in that kit, @Maximus-3 does sell the frame horn reinforcement kit which I did install. It is 2 plates (inner and outer) per side which are behind the bumper, it added 2 M12 bolts (1 per plate) and then the 3 front tow mount bolts attach to the reinforcement plates.

While I haven’t finished getting the winch mounted up and wired with the quick connect kit, I feel confident that the setup will work safely.

I have it mounted on the modular bumper that came on my Bronco Raptor, I believe it does work for both the capable and modular bumpers.

You’re right, it is. According to their website it just requires what it says below.

Note: Steel Capable Factory Bumper- Requires replacing D-rings w/ factory tow hooks.”

Question, did you paint the horn reinforcement parts? Do you think they will rust?

I did not paint them, I will be keeping an eye on them and if needed I will take them off and paint them. Luckily it is a pretty easy install now that the holes were drilled out, so removing the bumper and taking them off should take less then an hour if I need to.

Thanks for writing this up and for the photos.
I keep procrastinating, but I’m sure this isthe route I’ll go when I get off mybutt.

There are a bunch of other threads by the company and by members here who have gone this route.

Here is a link to one of the other threads that may be interesting to others

Link with videos of installs and tests.

Got it all mounted up and wired today, you have to split the positive and negative cables to use the quick connect kit. You could also buy more cable if you want it longer, I found that a cheap wallet multitool worked well for stripping the wire. Pulled the line out and re-spooled it, tested the wireless and wired remotes, everything worked well. Hopefully I‘ll get out soon to test it.

That's not bad.....not bad at all. Toss it on when you go wheeling, take it off when you are putting around town, or doing very fast desert things.

Win Win!

That was my thought as well, always had a winch permanently pointed on my Jeeps, but there just isn’t a clean enough (for me) option, I really love the way my Bronco looks and having a winch on all the time takes away from it.

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking at this solution for a while, for the same reasons you have.

I don't need a winch often, and like the option to remove when daily driving.

I have a 2.7 Bronco Badlands with Modular bumper, so this should be an easy install based on your write up.
