Other way around - in my case I have a soft top and prep kit, and the button.
So now to find out the difference and reason why. I have a 2.7 auto, BL 4dr w/ lux package, soft top w/ hard top prep package, build 11/9/21 that doesn't have the button.

The difference is if you have a hard top or a soft top w/ hard top prep, you don't have a button.

If you have a soft top w/o the hard top prep, you have the separate button.

Then how does @BrentC have the button with his soft top w/ hard-top prep kit? That's who I was quoting above.

If you have a hardtop or a softtop with the prep kit the mirrors are tied into the rear defrost button. Otherwise you have the the button for the mirrors.

This.
Clearly states in manual that rear defrost also turns on heated mirrors, just like the F-150

Can confirm. Soft top w/prep kit. My button is defroster. Used it the other day had snow on mirrors, melted right off

Did a search and came up with this thread, and am bumping it. 2023 OBX with soft top, with hard top prep. All I have is a single rear defrost button, and a PDF owner's manual that clearly was not edited well. I initially read only the very bottom part when I looked for "heated mirrors". A closer look got me to also read the top. Ya gotta laugh.
