"Overwork"? Say more! Given that all modern gas turbo engines (everyone - from Europeans to Americans to Asians, to racecars) use aluminum blocks, Fords 2.7 being the one exception I can think of, and the vast majority of them have the usual modern life spans. Ford's iron block won't help with the parts that usually wears out in a turbos (and NA engines for that matter), such as pistons and the like, adds weight, etc. Fords iron 2.7 block strikes me as an quirky experiment with no obvious value. Throw in the known issues, plastic oil pan, mounting, etc. and it seems to be the more problematic offering in the Bronco.still less power and have to over work that little all aluminum engine when the 2.7 is built like a diesel engine , superior block
Heck, even modern diesels (with now normal diesel psi of 30 or more) such as the BMW/Mercs, and GM's 3.0L "duramax" offering in their light trucks are aluminum blocks. It's the engineering/execution, not the material that matters.
Your right no tune will add aftermarket value
