I know some folks love/hate Doug Demuro and his content, and that's not the point of this post. There was an interesting question that came in on his podcast this morning, and I'm curious what folks perspectives are on this.

I've cued it up in the video below, however it's essentially "Should there be a luxury Bronco, made by Lincoln?" Same question was asked for the Jeep Wrangler and Chrysler. The thought was to follow in the G-Wagon playing field.

Considering many Bronco's and Jeep's never leave the pavement, it's an interesting thought. I could see more of a King Ranch "luxury" trim for the Bronco before a Lincoln one, but there's been some weird overlaps in the past.

Anyways, curious peoples thoughts.

I didn't watch the video but did they discuss price point? I feel we already are sometimes basically paying luxury prices for scratchy plastic interiors.

No price point. It was just an informal discussion to ponder with interior/exterior "luxury" quality/items.

That would by main contribution to the discussion. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any major complaints about the interior (other than that it seems to me Ford interiors always look at least a little dated even when they come off the assembly line), but if they made it luxury, I don't even want to know the cost.

I don't know the Lincoln market, but I feel it would be better to just keep the Ford Bronco name and make some special editions with upgraded interiors. That way they could at least use fomo to get people to buy them.

I've posed this question a few times already (the OBX non-Sas from a distance almost looks like one...), but for a variety of reasons, it really doesn't seem likely. Just not the right target audience.

Lincoln sold something like 14 F150's over the course of 8 years(?). This is an idea only Farley could love.
Lincoln Blackwood FTW!

I think the first step to Lincoln-ify it would be to make it a permanent metal roof. That would assist with interior comfort and would also set it apart from the Ford version.

Ford would be wise to do it, if done correctly. That means fixed roof only (which could then be parlayed into a fixed-roof Bronco version as well), and upgraded, Lincoln-style interior. People buy Land Rovers, Range Rovers, G-Wagons, Land Cruisers and Lexus GX, so why not a Lincoln? I could probably convince some family members to buy a quiet, fixed-roof version of my Bronco if it was luxuried-up Lincoln style. :D

Of course, they would be buying the four-door version, as there would never be a two-door Lincoln Bronco. ;)

Some people might say that's just a Ford Explorer or Expedition essentially... However, I would disagree.

Didn't they try this with the Lincoln Blackwood? It just didn't go well.

Now other brands seem to have done it such as the aforementioned G-Wagon, but that is a platform unto itself.

I suppose the Expedition/Navigator, just like the Tahoe-Suburban/Escalade have made it work, but those aren't really off-road warriors.

Toyota/Lexus seem to have been able to make it work with the Land Cruiser/GX/LX models. The Land Cruiser is an off-road legend, and the Bronco does have it's own heritage, but you have to be able to justify the premium vs. just slapping a Lincoln badge on it.

I don’t know about ya’ll but some Lincoln’s be having massage chairs in them seats now.

You can get the same treatment for your back going down the nearest dirt road with the ford bronco HAHA!

Minus the hearing loss and hip replacements later on, I say that’s a pretty solid experience.

I agree on the price point thing. Top level Badland's are now 75k$ and no one's buying the Raptors 80k+ so not sure there'd be enough of a market for this, especially not in the coming market.
