I recently purchased the below OPT 7 running board lights and had them installed. My installer could not get the white door assist lights to function and mentioned I would need a module? I was under the impression it could simply be tapped into an existing interior light to function, but he said the Bronco does not have the wiring for that. Has anyone else come across this issue? He mentioned I would need some kind of module, and wasn't sure if there was anything on the market yet?

Not sure if this will help, but when the IAG interior dome lights first came out, you had to tap them into a very specific wire WAY up under the dash that had them come on when the doors were open (sounds like what you're looking for), but they would stay on for a few seconds after the doors closed (like interior lights would). I don't remember the wire color, but you might be able to reach out to @IAG Performance and see if someone there can assist. Everybody seems to find them very helpful.

(Note: the current version of the dome lights plugs into the roll bar light and then can be controlled by the switches in the overhead console - a BIG improvement)

The door trigger wire you are looking for is down at the interior fusebox on the driver's side. Forewarning, it is a bit of a pain to get to, particularly if you don't do automotive wiring every day for a living. It is the grey/purple wire at the large connector towards the top of the fusebox. I attached some pictures below. There are also a number of other wires in that harness that look similar, so take your time and make sure you have identified the correct one. Most commonly, people grab the grey/brown wire as it looks nearly identical, but it will not do what you need it to do. Tagging this wire will give you 12v output any time the doors are opened, but will not provide 12v when the dome lights are turned on manually, which sounds like it would work for what you need.

Alternatively, you could use the module we sell, and modify it for your needs. You would plug this into the rear overhead dome light, and cut off the 2 pin harness connector containing the black and grey wires. From there, extend the black wire to the door trigger wire of your running board lights and insulate the grey wire. This has downsides and upsides since it would output 12v any time the dome lights are turned on. That is sort of a positive, since when you hit the unlock button on your keyfob, the dome lights turn on and would turn the running board lights on prior to actually opening the door. However if you are driving down the road at night and turn the dome lights on, the running board lights would flip to white which might be a bit of distraction for other drivers on the road.

That particular product has no plug and play installation. You need to tap into a circuit for the lighting as IAG explained above.
