Hello everyone,

Does anyone have experience with the Lemon Law procedures? I am still very early in the stages as my BRaptor has only been in the shop since Saturday. Just looking to hear any stories of experiences and whether or not you represented yourself, details below on my situation:

1. Got the 25' BRaptor mid-November (New, Shelter Green w/ matching hardtop)
2. Cruise control never worked
3. Turned it in this past weekend and service advisor called that afternoon saying they couldn't figure it out.
4. Update yesterday was the shop foreman and Ford engineering are working on it.
5. What has me concerned is that my Ford app shows two failures (Anti-lock and pre-collision not available). These never showed up on my dashboard. Also, two days before I purchased the vehicle, Ford Pass showed the dealer working on electronics in the service history. This has since disappeared. Just seems odd, but I could be overthinking it.

I've only put around 800 miles on the BRaptor since I got it. I hope they can fix it, but if it hits any of the qualifications for the Lemon Law I will probably proceed. Thank you for your input!

Lemon Laws vary by state

I'd look up the laws for your state and start there. You generally don't need a lawyer. Just start documenting how many times it's been to the dealer for the same issues and document total days it's out of service.

Thank you, I am in Florida and have been reading up on them. They seem very straight forward. I bought from this dealer back in 2022, but they've since changed owners. I have to say I do not have the same trust in these new owners as quality has gone way down.

only 800 miles and they have not even had a chance to fix it but you’re looking into lemon law already.
Maybe you have some darn good intuition, to me it sounds like buyer’s remorse.
Give them a chance or take it to another dealer if you think they are incompetent.
Your going to need to give ford a chance to make it right first.

Good insight, but I am hopeful to get it back. I buy a new vehicle about every 8-10 months (horrible mistakes I know). I didn't really mind the cruise control as much as it was seeing the error on anti-lock brakes that concerned me and the disappearing service history from my Ford app.

Wouldn’t worry about the other warnings at all.
If they’re trying to diagnose the cruise control issue, it’s very likely they are disconnecting multiple things for testing, which is temporarily setting new warnings and messages. All of that will/can be cleared after the fact.

Go to the dealer and have them pull an Oasis report. When we bought ours, the dealer provided an oasis report that showed anything thing had done to it before we purchased.

There wasn’t much there except for a tire replacement. It had a leak from the factory.

You are welcome. Just out of curiosity what dealer did you purchase from. And did they have you sign an arbitration agreement.

I bought a bunch of vehicles in Florida (we no longer live there) and there are very specific things that have to be met before you can go that route. You should have been given a Florida Lemon Law book when you purchased. I’m assuming you purchased new. Used, I have no idea.

If you signed an arbitration agreement, you will have to go thru that process before you can file a lemon law claim. If you have to do that, I suggest you find an attorney that specialize in lemon law cases.

I used the magnason moss warranty act on a Chevy avalanche. It’s a federal law. Chevy had 12x to fix and couldn’t. Was a minor thing and I got $15,000, my lawyer got $10,000

Afterwards I tried a new dealership and they found it in 15 minutes. A sensor $150

Got the truck and $15,000 in my pocket

It’s silly to be thinking about it after a short amount of time. Try another dealer is my recommendation if you’re not happy. Dealers aren’t all the same

Elder Ford (Tampa), and I am certain I signed that agreement (it seems common practice now). The lemon law requirements are pretty clear in the statute. No shortage of attorneys around here, but hopefully all this gets resolved soon! Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for sharing. I’ll give another dealer a shot before proceeding. I guess I assumed since they brought Ford into the mix so early that this became a high level issue that any dealer would struggle with, again since Ford was brought in so soon.

You don’t have a lemon. You’re just eager to move on to the next thing. Maybe take a look at the contract you signed.

In Maryland its 4 repair attempts on anything that affects the vehicles value or 30 days culminative out of service with in 18000 miles or 24 months since new. And there's something more strict for anything considered to be safety related.
I'm currently going through lemon law with mine right now.
