My experience in Maryland. Brand new 1989 Olds Cutlass bought by wife. Every time it rained the inside filled with water. After multiple dealer attempts to fix I had to go through the lemon law process. We had to prepare several copies of all the service attempts. Meeting was set up with Olds regional rep and dealer rep. Retired dude was the “ judge”. After hearing both sides ( we claimed it still filled with water, Olds said it was fixed) the moderator suggested we run the car through the car wash next door. We had never run the car through a car wash because of the issue and I knew no lawyer in the world would agree to this unless they knew in advance it would leak. I decided to roll the dice and run it through the car wash. After it went through the car wash there was three inches of water across the vehicle floor. Olds immediately offered a new car. Wife wanted money since we would not buy another Olds. We had the car for one year and put 10K miles on it. We received $600. 00 less than the purchase price. ( you don’t get the sales tax back, go figure). It took effort on our part in preparing and meeting the listed requirements but it was worth it.
