How many days does the dealer have to keep your vehicle for a repair before you can request a manufacturer buyback?

I take it your cam phasers are still out.
According to Illinios AG site:
Is My Vehicle a Lemon?
In order to be covered by the Illinois Lemon Law, a vehicle must:

  • have a nonconformity that both substantially impairs the use , market value or safety of the vehicle and is not repairable by the dealer or manufacturer in at least four attempts for the same repair, or
  • be out of service for a total of 30 or more business days.

Yes cam phasers still not fixed. 30 days total. Some parts out of stock and the dealer does not know when they would be in stock.

Dang. Sorry to hear. I was blown away that the fix involved pulling the motor. Somewhere there is probably a tech hoping those parts never come in.

Pulling the motor is what Ford recommends but I had some master machanics look a Bronco and they said it’s not necessary there is enough space to do it without pulling the motor.

You can do it without pulling the engine, but then you would need to pull the steering rack instead. Because either way the oil pan has to come off.

IMO it’s much easier to just pull the whole engine out. Much better chance of sealing the front cover and oil pan correctly also without any post repair leaks.
