Was over at my local dealer today waiting on them to finish up coding in a new key and replacing my MIC top. They're not quite done yet so on my way out, driving the lovely Escape loaner vehicle they gave me (sarcasm), I passed by the line of new Broncos.
Two red ones had me slamming on the brakes as they didn't seem to be Race Red. They had a bit of magenta and depending on how the light hit the paint, it'd color shift slightly. I had to get out and look.
I went online to look it up and they had two red vehicles, 2025's listed, one was Chili Pepper Red and one was Race Red. I thought Race Red was cancelled for 2025 so who knows.
I looked at Race Red Broncos before purchasing my current ride and the color was ok but not jump out at you cool. I thought Chili Pepper had more sophistication and the Race Red seemed a bit one dimensional for lack of a better description when compared next to one and other. Definitely wasn't ruby red.
Did they change the Race Red formula? Is it a new color I'm not aware of or were the used Race Reds I looked at late last year just dull for environmental reasons? I'd kill for a Braptor in this color. It became richer/darker in the shadow areas and would very lightly lean towards orange in the highlights. Maybe paint quality is just improved?
Some of the "translation" is going to be lost via the phone camera and how good/calibrated your screen is.
