How is the power control on the knob that controls temp not intuitive?Took me weeks to discover this....drove me crazy, too. So NOT intuitive.

Isn't that essentially the same as turning off the HVAC?Just to rub it in, you know us non-premium HVAC folks can set fan speed to zero.

I dunno, probably. There was someone on here who was very bothered by the fact they couldn't turn the fan to 0.Isn't that essentially the same as turning off the HVAC?
OK, now I'm curious.... I'll check to see if I still get any air flow with the HVAC off. I wanna say it just just shuts down, but doesn't close off the dampers from where it was last set, but I wouldn't swear to it....I dunno, probably. I dunno if turning the HVAC off closes the air dampers entirely or not, but with fan speed at 0 you do still get some air flow through it just by virtue of driving fast if you don't have it set to recirc. I only ever turn it off off when I'm doing something with ACC on for a while and don't want to burn through the battery overly fast.
Yeah lemme know, now that you made me think about it I'm curious but stuck at my desk today.OK, now I'm curious.... I'll check to see if I still get any air flow with the HVAC off. Yeah, this is what I'm thinking.... when you shut it off, the doors remain in the current setting. One thing worth noting is that if the blend doors are set to outside air and you turn the HVAC off you can still get airflow just from the cowl pressure at speed. If you set it to recirculate and then turn off the HVAC there is much much less flow , although still not zero at highway speeds.
Hey hey.. it's a big button with the universally accepted "power" symbol on it that the world has used since 1973. Some people are a little slow on the uptakeHow is the power control on the knob that controls temp not intuitive?![]()
No such thing as a dumb question except this one (go ahead and read through to enjoy the laugh).Yes.
An update . I am a bloody idiot. On the front of the temp setting, driver side, there is a power
emblem. Upon pushing that in, the fan turned off.
Thanks So much folks.
If you're referring to THIS. I'm still annoyed by it (not necessarily very bothered tho').I dunno, probably. There was someone on here who was very bothered by the fact they couldn't turn the fan to 0.

And you aren't the only one to have the issue with figuring out the HVAC controls. My first Bronco was a Black Diamond that I flew to Detroit and drove back to Florida. I wasn't used to the cold up north in early spring. The first day of driving I was freezing with the cold air blowing on me for the entire time. Had the fan at the lowest setting but couldn't figure out how to turn it off and didn't want to run the heat.
