Yeah it’s kind of odd. Most the videos I’ve watched don’t show or mention them. I’m not sure if this is a model year or trim level variation. Maybe @RagnarKon can confirm as he seems to have Ford connections.

FWIW, I have a 23 Badlands.

In my search I also stumbled across @Bird Dog Off Road install of the CVF intercooler. He mentions the back shroud in his video but opted to leave off stating he didn’t see much point living in a warmer climate.
Most people I know removed theirs. Even those in northern states.

Hello guys… wont removing the rear shroud affect cooling of the main radiator as it could suck air between radiator/fan empty space?

Mine didn't even come with a rear intercooler shroud. Doesn't affect anything at all.

Finally had time to do some wrenching. The Mishimoto is installed.

It was pretty easy. Undo 4-15mm bolts & 2 hose clamps and carefully lower. Stock cooler is pretty light.

The Mishimoto is quite a bit heavier. For ease I used my floor jack and a block of wood to get in place and temporarily hold while I reconnected the pipes and reinstalled the brackets. Easy peasy.

As mentioned, I opted to do this while also doing my bumper. With the bumper off I went ahead and removed the shutter system on the front side. I watched @MWILD CVF video that shows removing the shutter harness, motor, etc so you can reconnect the sensor and avoid CEL’s.

One area I was unclear about is the REAR shroud (part #6) that has a seal on top and some shutters that are NOT motor driven. The Mishimoto instructions call to reinstall them on the 2.7 but can be skipped on the 2.3. I have a 2.7. I’m assuming these are gravity/air driven. The seal looked like it had purpose as it was dirty.

In the @MWILD video it doesn’t appear his stock IC had them but it appears the CVF also had those tabs for it. Well they look similar to the Mishimoto ones anyhow. Can someone explain this REAR system and if it needs removed also or left in place?

Edited to add:

Mine didn't have the rear IC shroud either. Super strange...

the intercooler sits down below the radiator so I doubt it would have any effect on it

Sounds like this may work out in my favor. Meeting up tomorrow to buy.

Anything unique or special I should be on the lookout for? Plan on inspecting all welds, inlets, etc to make sure there aren’t any cracks or damage.

Nope. I ended up relocating my winch solenoid under the hood using the BAMF bracket. It’s pretty tight in that area and I don’t think I can fit larger aftermarket pipes. So I ended up leaving my stock pipes and used the stock adapters to make it all work.

The other set of adapters went to @mpeugeot as he was the first person to inquire about them once I decided what I was going to do.
