Yes. The aluminum wheels that were once the optional wheels. The standard black steelies on the Black Diamond was discontinued the model year before the trim itself was.

Have your friend take a picture of the grille. Supposedly the Black Appearance package replaces the grille with a black painted BD grill (unique to the Black Appearance package).

IMO, the Black Appearance package eliminates the attractive parts of the OBX. Paying for caps, handles, and flares to be painted is expensive and isn't worth the trade-off to MIC components.

I guess the Black Appearance Pack also includes the Heritage stripe

really the only thing interesting is the hood graphic and the wheels and tires. the rest is a downgrade.

The only good thing about that Black Appearance Package is the 17" wheels.
While they could be a little wider at least the owners will have a better selection of replacement tires.

My brother has a white outer banks SAS and it seems to have the black appearance package. I know he bought it off the lot. He really doesn't know much about all this AFAIK. I'm not going to tell him that he got a downgrade. I live in another state and don't get to see it often. I'm just getting into this now as I ordered mine in March. I was surprised when i saw it yesterday - interesting! Black flares, but body colored door handles. Hmmm
I can send a pic when I get over there again if anybody cares...

That's even worse than expected. I was thinking it was a BD grille painted gloss black. This is just a recycling of the WT grille.

Seems like these special packages are just a spare parts bin package.
