Update: After a total of 48 days (spread over 3 attempts) the LKA still doesnāt shake the steering wheel like my MY23 did. And now it is worse than original-it doesnāt reliably detect a lane departure to the left. Can someone verify that Ford didnāt change normal LKA wheel shake feature between...
Oh yeah, forgot to mention: be sure to get a ground plane-less antenna and use low loss coax. Ground plane metal is sparse in the back of your Bronco and losses are high with skinny coax.
The Upfitter wire that runs from engine compartment to passenger footwell is only 15 gauge. The FTM510 (a very fine piece of electronics) pulls a fair amount of current when transmitting and it wants a full 13.8V to get max power out. You might consider using a dedicated heavier wire. If you...
Donāt use AutoNation Torrance. Have had nothing but bad luck with them. Only good point is the service writer. But he doesnāt have much to work with.
Assuming your Starlink terminal will be in the cargo area-hereās what I did for my Bodega fridge, similar load to yours, it pulls 1-2amps when compressor is running, so far the battery has handled this overnight: I used the Upfitter pass-through wires to get to the cargo area. Use an inline 10...
My 2.7l oil level was the same on the day of delivery as it was when I took it in for a 7000 mile oil change. ~3/8ā above the full mark. Must have put in 8 quarts at the factory. Most of the 7000 miles were either on trail or on highways getting to a trail.
Update: still getting MIL light and P0430 code. MIL light has reset itself twice, including 30 minutes before scheduled appointment š. Dealer has (allegedly) contacted corporate techs about this one. As of today: AutoNation Torrance has had my Bronco for a total of 30 days so the ante has moved...
On both of my Broncos (Bad High & BadSas Lux) the tailgate handle only unlocks the tailgate but pushing the tailgate lock button locks everything. I consider this to be a good design choice. I have no problem with having to touch the front handle to unlock the rear doors. Ford got this one right.
Data Point: The ill-conceived Jeep Wrangler 4xe with its many hundred pounds (rumored at 700# ?) got about 20 miles of city driving in electric only mode. To the disappointment of many buyers this was not good enough to earn a Kalifornia diamond-lane sticker. Poking around internet videos the...
After it was determined that you would be awarded a new Braptor, how long to get it from the factory? Did you go to the head of the line? Maybe no waiting line for a Braptor. Did the 4.5 months include the wait? Apologies if the answer is embedded in the thread.
Donāt confuse the SAS Territory tires with ābeefierāā They are bigger than the non-sas KOs but very flimsy otherwise. Checkout their weight and sidewall rating.
The only time my Chocolate Mousse, aka Marsh Gray, Bronco looks gray is after 3 days of riding in northern Nevada playaās. Not even Bob Ross could find any gray in that mis-named color.
Itās done this to me enough times that now I look for a benign stretch of trail and Iām also on the brakes before downshifting. Fewer surprises this way.
You have provided an excuse to get Forescan. My Honda 2017 CRV has stop and go ACC. Strange that a Bronco that costs 2X couldnāt do the same. Similar argument for lane centering.
I agree with others on this list:
Fix the basic Bronco errors first:
Gas struts for hood
Gas struts for rag top
Protection for vulnerable plastic under carriage bits
Mud flaps if you have rock-chucker Territory tires
Fix the interior lighting
Now you are ready for serious off-road mods
If you shift from M to D while at higher RPMs be prepared for a big clunk. If you downshift while in M be prepared for a few seconds of free-wheeling! Very disconcerting when using the M mode to manage downhill speed!
Just be sure the connectors on each end are wired like the āofficialā connectors or you will let some of that legendary, all-important smoke escape from the head!! It doesnāt matter for Ethernet applications but yours is different. Ask me how I knowā¦ā¦..
