HELP - Rear Parking Sensor(s) Connector

when I changed my front bumper had no connections. Research had me turn on the vehicle and listen/touch each sensor to find the one not clicking, checking for pin misalignment. It worked for me, one of the right front pins had backed away from fully seated so no contact when plugged into connecter.

I just finished installing my new LOD bumper today. I did have problems with the rear parking assist sensors, I had a sensor connected incorrectly. This is easy to do, the connecters to the sensors and the light for the license plate are exactly the same. If you pay close attention there are two wires to a connector that are Black & grey and yellow & purple. These go to the license plate light. That is what fixed my problem.

I just changed out my rear bumber and the orange rubber seal inside the connector deformed when I attempted to plug it in casuing it not to fully seat. I carefully cleaned up both sides of the connector and applied dielectric grease and the plugs snapped in and everything works.

OMG - that did the trick! I hit every snag possible on a (simple) exhaust switch to the FlowMaster Outlaw. The connector almost broke my back. So frustrating!! After applying the grease it just went in and clicked in place with zero effort. THANK YOU!

So question, I get the parking aid fault, and Ford said I did not have any front sensors. The back sensors are there. The Ford tech, claimed it did not work because I did not have front sensors, which made no sense to me because my F150 never had front sensors and everything worked backing up. I have Warn elite bumpers in the front and back. So basically it could be my rear sensors are not plugged in correctly?

Did anyone ever get anything more definitive for this? I took off the rear bumper to add a hitch and neither cable fully clicks in.

Love this forum! Installed a new bumper on my Bronco when I went to reconnect the wiring it would not work, no matter how hard I pushed. A simple squirt of WD-40 did the job! Thanks for all the ideas. By the way, took it to an auto electric shop, they couldn't figure it out either!

Im in this predicament too, after installing my hitch. A brand new vehicle should not do this. I will give this a shot.

WD-40 for the win! Thx to this thread the problem of the hard-to-reconnect parking sensor was solved. My buddy and I were scraping our heads. Then a quick search and Bam! Squirt of lube and it was easy. Could probably also use a drop silicone. It didn’t take much.

All the parking sensor faults went away and everything is back to normal after rear bumper install.

Exact story for me. I was getting so frustrated that I could not get that harness to snap back. WD40 did the trick.

WD-40 for the win. I just put my rear bumper back on and tried everything. I was grabbing my extended reach pliers when I thought maybe someone else had the issue. Little squirt of WD-40, slide right in and clicked.... Damn thing. Thanks Mike for starting the thread so long ago.

I had same problem, would not "click" together, sprayed a little WD40 on connectors, and easily clicked together..

Great that wd40 worked but I’d use dielectric grease instead. I’m not sure if the solvent component of wd40 will harm the seals or anything else plastic.

Thanks for posting the wd40 tip. After installing a new bumper I had the same issue with default error code. My clip was full of dirt and grit and with wd40 and cotton swabs I was able clean it up to where it stays attached.

I also have an issue to plug them back and yes i am getting error in parking aid

I also replaced my rear bumper ford says seeing they didn't install it they are not allowed to work on it. I have done everything I can think of, I even took off the entire bumper {few hunnert ponds) and re seated every sensor (as well as marking the direction and position prior to taking off factory bumper) Now I have bought new sensors and I have had it after I replaced the problem area the attachment is what I saw, good thing I already expected but yes same thing.
