I have never heard of brake pads not coming with new clips........or not being able to use the old clips. I would not install new brake pads without any clips. They would just move all over the place and make lots of noise. Something does not sound right here. Another reason I try and do all of my own vehicle work.

I would have agreed with you before my back ones wore out in 19k miles on my 2023 Badlands.
That's the traction control's fault more than the pads.

Actually both clips broke both sides
Yeah that'll do it too. Mine have been wearing faster than the fronts as well, but I'm pretty sure I just need to chill out on the long pedal.

A few folks have mentioned the rears wearing much faster than the fronts, which is contrary to most vehicles. I check mine every time I have the tires off, and my pads are still pretty healthy looking after 60k+ - knock on wood

Someone mentioned traction control (in all its various forms) and that could have something to do with it. Could just be the way the Broncos sit. I dunno. Just curious

I've started running in AWD most of the time, and rear brake and tire wear are much better. With a lift and 37s I definitely get more body roll when accelerating through a corner (or turning from a stop), which unloads the inside rear tire. A Miata the Bronco is not.

It's the cornering stability control applies rear brake corners as need to help out with directional changes If doing more assertive cornering rear brakes will wear faster.

No experience with Hawk I went with powerstop but had similar experience as @Valhalla clips on the rears were broke, which was preventing the pads from retracting after releasing the brakes So not sure how not having any clips is supposed to work. And surprised to see the rears wore down significantly more than the fronts, which is a first for me on any vehicle.

UPDATE: Do not purchase these pads whatsoever. I have discovered that the issue indeed is an unacceptable tolerance that likely would be solved with clips. Hawk has been made aware of this issue and I have shown them a video of the pads jumping around in the caliper causing a horrendous metallic clanging sound. They are refusing to warranty them because they technically function without issue, even though they're jumping all over the place when the brakes are not applied. My experience with Hawk customer service has been one of the worst for any company I have ever dealt with.

Total BS have not heard good things at all about Hawk over in Mustang world either. Ford brake parts are good quality. I suppose and Alcon upgrade would be a real upgrade....

UPDATE: Hawk LTS Pads require the use of OEM spring tension clips. This comes after Eric Matie, the customer service representative for Hawk Performance, incorrectly advised me that "no" Hawk pad products require the use of clips or springs and told me to just keep cranking down on the caliper pins for a tighter fit. After insisting that he consult one of his engineers, he finally did and his engineer informed him that I was missing the spring tension clips in the photos I sent in. Eric, instead of acknowledging that he incorrectly advised me, then accused me of "user error." When I called him out on the fact that he was flat wrong when he told me there was no need for springs or clips or to reuse of any OEM pad components, he simply said, "sorry for the confusion, this one is an exception to the rule."

Unfortunately, the pads bouncing around for hundreds of miles during the time that he incorrectly advised me that no clips or springs were necessary has resulted in wildly uneven wear on the pad surface and rotor. I decided to get PowerStop Z36 pads (which come with clips and springs) and new fully Geomet coated rotors. I think I will try submitting the invoice to Hawk just to see what they will do but I am about 99.99% confident they won't pay it nor acknowledge any fault.

Anyways, incredibly poor experience with a Hawk product and an unbelievably poor experience with their customer service. Eric Matie has made sure that I will never do business with Hawk or recommend them ever again.

Good pad choice, so far, I am very happy with mine.

Anyone tried NRS brake pads out? Saw Chrisfix's video about them and have always been interested but never had a vehicle worthy of more expensive pads till now lol.
