Aftermarket brake pads

Has anyone gone to aftermarket brake pads for more bite? I find the stock brakes to be a bit lacking and am curious to hear from experiences others have had. It seems there is not much discussion on this so far although my sentiment on the brake performance doesn't seem to be unique.

2.3 and these pads and rotors. Definitely makes a difference, feels more like normal braking than what we used to have

It's interesting. Ordering from Extreme Terrain separately is only $570 - but, the complete kits from other distributors (Summit, etc) are $620.

EDIT: Looks like Rock Auto has the best deal for $525 + Tax/Shipping for $610 to the door. Extreme Terrain comes to $647.

EDIT 2: Looks like SickDeals Plug-in/Extension found me a Discount Code for $26.24 off getting me down to $582.55 shipped from Rock Auto. NOT BAD!
