This Forum is a great resource as I was unaware of the different options and manufactures available. Thank you to everyone who posted regarding those options along with installation tips. I could definitely see me dropping a nut down the fender. Unfortunately, I've removed the stickers off the front fenders now and replaced the silver Bronco emblem with a black Ford Performance one. I'm all out of mods and upgrades until my door pockets and hood struts come in. Think it's time for a Sunday drive with the tops off and enjoy it! Have a great weekend!!

Hi it's only day 2 of ownership and I have my weatertech mats installed, read Ford Cargo mat and changed the silver Bronco emblem to black. I have door pockets on their way but also need some hood struts and was thinking about either the Ford Performance ones or the Redline Tuning. Redline offers 3 types, one is carbon. I was wondering if anyone has chosen either of these as I'm not aware of the benefits of one over another or standard struts, compared to carbon or the elite pair. I appreciate any input as I would like to place an order this weekend.

Nope. The hood prop works for me.

I ordered mine through Ford Performance and had the dealer install-$30 for install. Work great and no need to mess with the hood rod.

I went with the Steeda struts.

It would seem these Steeda struts would also work for my Hood. Need to take a look at them as I do not live far from Steeda of S. FL facilities.

Ouch! Just went to the site, 180$ for hood struts??!!??

Just got my redlines in on Friday - 2 days from time of ordering to my door. Ordered the carbon fiber optioned units & they look great. Redline customer service is outstanding and in my opinion under $100 we’ll worth it.

I skipped the hood struts ,the rod work fine, and honestly there is nothing to see under there anyway(worst engine bay of any rig I've owned)

I would love to have my 98 model extended cab Ranger back. Sold it in 2011 it had almost 200k and was still going strong!

I have the Redline. Very happy with them. Would’ve probably bought the Ford Performance had they been available at the time. But no regrets and I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing Redlines in the future for a vehicle. Great product

I went with Redline. Happy with them. I left the factory prop attached. Doesn’t bother me that it’s there. It’s a backup!

Ford Performance. They're great and I used my Ford points.

The difference in the redline models is max lift or same height as prop rod. I put on the Ford performance and spent more than tge rebranded redlines. Brackets on tgem look and act like factory and not an after thought. Also some other of the cheaper brands angle toward the front which I feel hinders compartment access more than the prop rod. The pics show the part number stickers between Ford and Redline.

I have the $30 struts from stickerfab. They work well for me. I simply don't open my hood enough to justify $100+ for that. If you have money to burn for for it though.
