It's for my Bro, he's got a '17 V6 Coupe (Auto) he's done a little bit of mods to (BBK Shorty, GT Catback, 11-14 GT 80mm TB, KN Filter, Steeda Ultralite G-trac brace, diode sequencer and Axial Side/Rear marker LEDS). Beautiful in Ruby Red, but now it's time for an upgrade and its between a Bronco w/a 2.7 or a GT (Auto for either or)

Posted this on Mustang7G, but for the sake of fairness, also here. One hand, its a mustang to Bronco, but on the other hand, he doesn't really speed and remember him saying he wanted one since the frankenmule days, when we had no idea how they'd look. He's torn, so again, getting feedback from both sites.

Who made the switch and whatcha think? I'd comment, but had a Ram afterwards and I had a EB Vert to boot.

Thanks in advance!

2005 mustang gt used to be my daily. Since getting the bronco, the mustang has been sitting in the garage. I put 10 miles on the mustang in the almost two years I've owned the bronco...

Went from an 18 Convertible Ecoboost to a 21 Bronco Ragtop to a 22 Convertible Ecoboost.

I prefer the Mustang. Its a MUCH better convertible. Bronco was cool in Flordia when I could leave the top off 6 months a year, but its such a slog to get the windows back in the ragtop that I couldnt deal with it for short trips. So once we left Florida it just isnt practical. As a third vehicle I only drive when I know its gonna be sunny or not worried about where I am going it would be great, but if its a daily, Mustang all the way. I went from 2.3 to 2.7 back to 2.3, and while I am not a speeder, the Bronco was just a dog comparativly. Now, if you USE the 4wd, thats a different story, but if it stays a paement pounder, Mustang is just a better vehicle.

With @ZFGracing's turbo upgrade/tune to ~480hp, I meen it ain't a Mustang but it's still fast!
Why I'd swap if I could. Meanwhile I'm surprised he's even modded his car. Still, he says he likes to go camping, even if he's got a ridgeline, although considering he's dating again, figure the pizazz factor of the Bronco would work in his favor

Ooh, one of them HEL's in REB or Yellowstone would be a chick magnet. More than a regular 2dr (👀 😁). Which is still a chick magnet (I still get looks and questions).

Hands down the M2 was the most fun, just not as practical as the Bronco. My heart was always pounding while driving the M2 or any of the Mustangs. Driving the Bronco is much more relaxing. I also don't worry about wheel rash or door dings.

Wife is considering getting a Mustang Darkhorse. I expect her to get tired of it and I will be forced to trade with her.

Well he should have bought the ecoboost instead of modding the V6.
We went from 2015 Mustang ecoboost convertible premium to Gladiator (ordered Bronco same day) when the wife wrecked the stang. I’d buy another EB Mustang before I’d buy a GT. It’s lighter and handles better with proper tires. The only thing(s) I miss about the Mustang is how easy it is to put the top down and back up, (edit: AND THE AIR CONDITIONED SEATS) but with the bronco, we have many configurations we can utilize to get open air feel and still have shade. I would not buy a soft top bronco I would buy a hardtop and rig up a lift to get the top off and a proper cockpit rain cover to throw on it so you can leave the top off. Or part of it. We have found we prefer the rear clamshell off and the front panels in when extremely hot and sunny. Rode around all day yesterday in near 100* heat with it like that. The Bronco is fun.

Does he want a Bronco or do you want him to have a Bronco? I didn't come from a Mustang but my background is small sporty imports and there's a world of difference between them and my Bronco! Definitely two different tools but does he plan on joining you off-road or just looking for something different?

I've owned a few Mustangs over the years. Traded in my 14 for the Wildtrak I'm in now (out with the old, in with new in pic below). As mentioned, the ease of going topless goes to the Mustang. Other than that, I'm so incredibly happy I made the switch. Camping, tailgating, trails and even daily driving are fantastic. I loved all my Mustangs, but I don't think I really enjoyed driving until now.

We were at that Car show yesterday at the local Ford dealership (Saleen next to me won btw)

and he was considering it, but then some minor change of plans happened and its back to the drawing board between the two.

If I had a say, he'd get a Dark Horse or a fully optioned Wildtrak, both are out of his budget though. Again, just looking for feedback to pass along to him here.

Forgot to add, he's not gonna be rock crawling and pushing her, but would be down to join us for bonfires and wants to camp

It is absolutely 100% worth the trade up, having driven mustangs for the 17 years (I currently own 3) I now exclusively drive the bronco. There’s just so much more fun factor with a bronco that can’t be achieved with a mustang

Had my ‘11 5.0 Mustang GT and my ‘22 Bronco Badlands 4-door concurrently for like a 6 months before I sold the Mustang to pay for home remodeling. I love them both! I miss the stang for sure. For my needs now the Bronco is better because I need more space, but if I didn’t have a family the Mustang would neck and neck

I've had 2 mustangs in the past, the last one with FRPP suspension. I now enjoy bouncing around in my 2dr OBX and smile every time I ignore a speed bump or steep driveway entrance.
Plus sitting up high I can now actually see the traffic around me instead of guessing 🙃
