Ford Performance Tune flags in system?

If one has had the performance tune and returned to stock prior to going to a dealer would it still flag that the system had been modified? I didn’t want to pay the dealer the $300+ to do this but now am concerned it will effect my powertrain warranty and extended warranty.

It will always be there. Doesn’t matter if it has been removed.

Unless you’ve had some catastrophic engine failure, you probably don’t have much to worry about.
I doubt they will deny warranty coverage on something small or unrelated to the tune.

If the tune is nstalled by a ASE certified tech/dealer, Ford Performance gives you a 3-yr/36,000 miles warranty that covers any powertrain damage that can be linked to the tune itself. If you are worried about Engine warranty issues get the Tune and have it installed by your Ford servicing dealer.

I don't work at a dealer, and I'm not a tech, but I havent heard any chatter online about Engine damage done by the Procal or engine warranty claims denied because the procal tune was present in the engine.

That’s some tricky wording that confuses people with the tune. You don’t get an extension on your existing 3/36.
I think what you’re saying is that it adds an additional 3/36 starting when at date it’s installed but only for issues caused by the tune itself.
Did I understand that correctly?
I’m not sure how an owner would know if the tune caused the issue but a dealer could easily say it did not.

I believe the purpose is to replace the factory 3/36 during that time period. Once your 3/36 runs out, so does the special warranty. They wouldn’t want to give a 3/36 on something 5 years old and 100k miles on it already.

This is correct. Easiest way to think about it: It effectively replaces your standard 5-year/60,000 mile factory powertrain warranty with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty.

The factory powertrain warranty will continue to cover parts of the powertrain that the tune does not impact. But obviously the biggest components of the powertrain are modified by the tune, which is why I think it's easiest to think of it as replacing the factory powertrain warranty.

Nope.

3/36 from the day it rolls off the lot. If you install FP Tune at 35,999 miles... you get 1 mile of warranty coverage, and effectively lose the remaining 24,001 miles of the 5/60 powertrain (for issues that would pertain to the tune).
