It all depends on the year. It seems that if you have a later model Bronco the ECU / ProCal upgrade goes much smoother. If you have an early-year Bronco 2021 / 2022, they are problematic.
Not sure how you arrived at that conclusion. Most likely, people adding the tune on earlier years had more problems because they did it when the tune just came out and a lot of people didn't read the directions and follow them exactly.

I have a 2022, installed it myself and it couldn't have been less problematic. I did have to read instructions--which I am loathe to do--but it was as easy as the code reader thing I used on my 07 Jeep to change the tire size for 35s.

The Ford Performance account creation tripped up some people, but it's really just paying attention to detail.

I also vote for installing it yourself or finding an SAE "Red"? Mechanic, ask them what their favorite beer is, and bring a 4ski, sixer, suitcase, etc. of it.

I based it on the number of people reported that had challenges as well as my own Ford Performance dealer that said they have had to get with Ford Engineering a numbers of times on Bronco installs.

I have a Raptor F150 also that I did myself without an issue.

The point being that for some paying a few $ to have it installed by Ford is worth the peace of mind.

I based it on the number of people reported that had challenges as well as my own Ford Performance dealer that said they have had to get with Ford Engineering a numbers of times on Bronco installs.

The point being that for some paying a few $ to have it installed by Ford is worth the peace of mind.
I paid dealer $90 to install and get warranty ...no brainer even withoit warranty just in case theres a glitch

What other adjustments can you do with the Ford Procal? I have adjusted my tire size and still getting 2 mph difference to my gps. Am I missing something In the procedure?
You probably need to tweak the tires rev's per mile (if I remember the setting correctly). I think mine was a little higher than what the manufacturer showed on their site (just an example, they said 850, I had to set to 870 to be spot on with GPS)

That was all I did, just adjust it, drive, and adjust until it is accurate. Well, besides the performance part of their tune, :)

If you are doing it for the warranty, just go to a certified ASE mechanic and email FP the receipt. Glad I did on my 2021 Ranger which recently underwent a 10R80 complete tranny rebuild at 55K miles. Service advisor said when the punched it in to the computer a message in big red bold letters popped up on screen to call a 1-800 number before performing work which ended up being FP. Another crappy Chinese tranny done.

What performance part?
The tune included in the Procal 4. You can adjust tires, gears, etc. outside the performance tune
