That fake engine sound inside was one of the most annoying features of my Bronco. I was able to eliminate it with FORScan in the "As Built" ACM module under 727-01-01. The fix is xxxx-xxxx-0xxx. 1 is ESE on and 0 is ESE off. I can still barely hear the actual exhaust and that it what I want.
Thanks for posting this I added a sub into my truck and couldn’t for the likes of me figure out why in the world I had a loud exhaust coming from it spent some time fiddling around with the gains and was like wait this is not alternator whine lol! I went and downloaded my build from that Motorcraft website and looked up that code there is a 1 placeholder there that needs to be changed to 0 which explains it all and verified. Now just need to get my Vlinkerfs in the mail and turn the stupid thing off!

Ok I did this change with Forscan on my 22 Wildtrak 2 door with Lux and B&O and damn I never knew there was “fake engine” sounds coming from the speakers! It is now super quiet in the cabin now! I also just upgraded all my speakers with the HERTZ DIECI COAX PLUG & PLAY SPEAKER BUNDLE UPGRADE and MTI rear pods from Trail Seven!

These speakers have awesome sensitivity! The sound is almost perfect with the stock b&o amp but I will work getting an aftermarket amp and sub next to go all the way since I am

Half way there now!

But turn off the FAKE engine noise ASAP!!! It will make your Bronco sound better and your B&O or after market system sound better!

That fake engine sound is ruining your B&O or aftermarket stereo sound that’s why you want to disable it, if you value good clean stereo sounds!

It was so much louder I thought it had the valved exhaust. Fortunately I read a thread regarding it and disabled it after having my bronco a week. Absolutely awful.

In my Bronco (like my women) I like to hear the sound.

I don't care if it's fake...
Wait until you add an aftermarket amp and it boosts that terrible sound by 1000 times and you’ll want to get rid of it!

The Bronco is so much better without the fake engine noise the stereo (B&O or upgraded) sounds 1000 times better! I am about to add an upgraded amp and sub to finish it off!

I honestly did not even know about the fake exhaust when I installed my amp and could not figure out why I had engine noise coming from my sub. I thought it was a ground loop or some other issue and was or kept fiddling around with everything. It would have been nice to know when purchasing my vehicle that these things exist I love my bronco but ford should be more transparent!

Welp. I guess I’m digging into Forscan tonight. I didn’t realize it was standard in 2024+. I was like, damn the new 2.3L MPC sounds great!

just experienced this after changing my amp setup. Kick panels are making good music now but the fake exhaust is so loud I thought something had gone wrong with the engine. lol

I can’t believe that there isn’t a way to turn that crap off in settings. Forscan to the rescue - but, the everyday driver is stuck with that shit.

I was fully aware of the "feature" being enabled when I purchase my 22 WT LUX. I never minded the sound, but in reading through here I question it's impact on overall audio "quality." Conversely I fear that the V6 sound will then bother me without the compensation 😆

Heh, it doesn't really have any noticeable impact on audio quality. Especially given the Bronco itself has a relatively loud interior cabin.

The only time it actually matters is when someone has an aftermarket audio upgrade and messes up the gain structures—either purposefully or accidentally—on their amps.

Frankly, I'd be willing to bet 90%+ of the people only learned of this feature through this thread. Otherwise, they would never have noticed. (And of course, now that they know it exists, they feel duped and have the sudden need to disable it.)

That’s a pretty steaming hot take Rag. The only way it’s noticed is if gain structures are wrong? Burbling fake engine noises played under your music don’t alter the audio quality? Right.

fact is adding amps raises volume in the front stage unless you pick a low power amp or configure it wrong (like all the harness makers for the Key 200 do BTW). Better kick panel speakers with sound treatment further increase the frequencies where that rumble sits. It’s not a gain problem on amps.

the only thing I might agree on there is that a lot of people don’t notice the sound when everything is still stock. And everyone SHOULD feel duped by fake exhaust sounds piped into what you described as an already noisy interior. It’s literally fake sound made to fool the driver.
