apologies if this has already been discussed, i searched but couldn't really find anything..

my BD order has been shipped over the weekend and according the window sticker it doesn't have the $250 discount for the fake amp+sub. i had read on here a while ago that the second half of the MY23s might actually be a real amp+sub. so when i saw the -$250 missing i thought this might be accurate.

if that is the case, does anyone have any experience with it yet? i'm fully expecting to still want/need to replace the other factory speakers, but at least those don't seem as involved as replacing the fake amp and sub box.

i'm not a big thumpy bass kind of guy, and as long as it at least still seems present to help distribute the lows i think i'll be happy.

anyone have it yet? opinions? am i reading the window sticker wrong and they are still fake?

my dec built 2023 had it working. it's pretty awful. Im not a big stereo guy and would rate it about a 2 for a factory system. replacing all of the speakers and adding a 5 channel amp was one of the first things i did.

i would say questionable. the more you turn it up the worse it sounds.

I installed a factory sub in my 23 that had it deleted. Before I ever fired it up, I put killmat all over the enclosure, put some polyfill in the enclosure, put killmat in the fenderwell + floor. The EQ has been turned off as well. I'm letting you know this, because I don't know what it sounds like from the factory, just bolted into this square tin can of a car.

To me, the factory sub sounds great, but it does depend on the music you listen to. I mostly listen to electronic music, and I've had to turn the bass down to about half. Listening to rock, its hit or miss. Hip-Hop, I imagine it would sound good.

Go into sound settings and set it to optimize the sound for the driver. It makes a big difference. With that done I find my 7 speaker system to be acceptable. Granted, I don't listen to my music at extremely loud levels like many of the younger folks and I'm listening to Christian rock, jazz and blues rather than hip-hop.

Disclaimer - I'm old and have abused my hearing with loud music, firearms, machinery, etc.

Mine is factory sub delete. The ride home from the dealer I was REALLY underwhelmed. I added the fusion amp and Kicker 6.75" sub and it made a huge difference. There was somebody with the factory 7 speaker replacing the sub with the Kicker, but I never saw results. It's about $100 and 30 minutes to do.

I then replaced the dash 4" speakers with Infinity reference and 600 Hz bass blockers. Another big improvement.

I have another set of Infinity Reference for the pods. Waiting for connectors to show up to avoid cutting the factory wiring.

I am not an audiophile but I know the factory system is sh!t. I replaced the dash, kick panel and rear speakers with Focal ACX 100 & ACX 165. I added bass blockers to the dash as well. At highway speeds the Bronco is noisy and turning up the music just made it noisier. The Focals have added a lot of clarity to a weak system and I can now hear the music instead of more noise.
This was a great bang for your $ upgrade.

I would love to know which 5 channel amp and speakers you went with. My Bronco is on a railcar now and I'd like to swap out speakers and subwoofer as well along with an amp.

sure. I did Focal Access 165AS 2 ways in the front, tweeter in the dash and mid in the kick panels. in the rear i went with the mabett (sp?) speaker pods and put a set of Focal Access 6.5 coaxial. for the amp i sort of cheaped out and went with Alpine HDA-V90 (probably should have gone with the JLAudio HD series). and then in the back i just threw a JLAudio 10w6v3 that comes in their HO box

oh and i needed that AudioControl LC6i integration thing.
