I thought the everglades came with full bash plates. But looking under the rig the transmission pan is exposed. I could be wrong, but i thought there should be a plate there. If not stock, ill get into looking on what the best route is. Thank you.

Should have four bash plates:
  • Front (radiator, intercooler)
  • Engine & part the transmission
    • Edit—Badlands trim has a second bash plate here for the sta-bar disconnect
  • Transfer case
  • Fuel tank

Thanks, so the everglades should have no bash plate covering the transmission case then?

Thank you!

That's right. Even the Badlands, the rock crawler, doesn't have one. If you want one, Talon's Garage, RCI, SFR etc. sell ones that work.

Another option to add to @userdude's list: Next Venture Motorsports

Their skids are overkill for most people, but if you do intend on beating your Bronco against the rocks, definitely one of the better options for skids.

It flash floods allot here and i plan on using this thing to its advantage if I happen to be out and about, not anything thats dangerous that is, but certainly not without that skid plate and that plastic trans pan.

Seen a few of your vids. Subscribed. Thanks!

I did not know this, looks like I need to order a plate.

Unless you are doing some technical rock crawling you really have to work at it to take a hit to the transmission pan You will usually bottom out on something else first. The skid plates on the everglades are nothing special but they will provide adequate protection under all but the serious rock crawling trips. I can attest they will support the weight of the rig with out sustaining any substantial damage.

I've had a tree branch puncture a wire loom.

Trans skid is very important, the pan is plastic, is quite long and exposed.

Beaver Dams are the worst for driving over when it comes to sticks ripping wires and and brake lines off. In most cases there is not too much you can do for them. Agree skid plates over the transmission pan aren't a good thing but in all the years off road I have seldom seen a transmission pan take a direct hit unless it involved serious rocks. In my case I wouldn't loose sleep over not having them and there are other things like the tie rods I worry more about. That being said it is for my 7000 or so miles a year on logging and winter roads in northern maine--however every area is different.

Ford makes one for the Raptor which will fit any 2.7 Bronco, but I am unsure about 2.3 fitment (however it would likely fit).

The part number is: NB3Z-5D032-B

I was surprised that there was no plate over the transmission but considering the history of the ten speed transmission I would expect them to have quick access...
