yes. It does. And has.
The edge of the stock lens sticking out there is begging for a tree or rock to snag it.
I guess I'll just take a chance on it getting broken. In the rare case that it actually does happen, the replacement Ford halogen item is cheaper than all these unreliable aftermarket LED setups.

Is the extra one inch of clearance going to make that much of a difference?
Sometimes you gotta Pay to Play. I would not recommend Oracle tail lights for a daily driver, but get them if you’re playing in the rocks.

It's actually 3" per side so I've got an extra 6", thank you very much.....

If you already had LEDs from the factory, why would you ever go out and get cheap aftermarket garbage?
Wheeling is the first reason for the swap but the other more practical reason is the rear backup lights on stock lights just don’t do a good job. So I thought instead of buying a set of Baja designs or other lamp I’d just kill two birds with one stone and get these to help the daily use.
But I’ve learned my lesson and I’m sorry for misbehaving.

The question is will anyone else beware the treachery that awaits if they buy from Oracle?

You already have them and installed?
What's your opinion if so?

Based on some of the comments on this thread, I would hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Oracle has told me they'd offer me 15% off a new set! What do you think everyone? Should I take that deal?
Maybe at 50%.

I've seen them stupid cheap on the various classifieds too. Almost makes me want to convert to them.

Let me start by saying this is just a fair warning to anyone who is looking to upgrade your taillights.
I bought these direct from the manufacturer and at the time had only seen positive reviews about the company and their quality. My experience has proven to be less fortunate not once but now twice. The photos below are taken about four months apart and the issue is the same. The difference however is that the failed tail lamp on the drivers side from the first photo was exchanged for a brand new one seen in photo number two. The first lamp lasted 6 months or thereabouts from time of install as I left them in the box for about a year while I sourced the time for the install and more importantly the early Windows PC that could run the Forescan to even use the lamps. They were actually good about replacing this from the perspective of the normal warranty period as my procrastination with installation had passed the warranty period. I appreciated this very much actually.
But the process to deal with the requirements of that manufacturer and the hoops they force you to jump through was quite painful and not logical or convenient to the end user. To get the replacement lamp took about a month of back and forth plus they wanted me to remove the light for a build code before they would ship the replacement. Let's just say this is far from convenient and what I found when I finally did go to replace the lamp is that the plastic tab that pushes into the holder is very brittle and broke immediately upon removal. The second lamp lasted less than 4 months. I guess I'm going back to stock at this point.

I've had mine for about 2 years now but had the same exact issue you are having with the drivers side taillight about 6 months ago. Of course the warranty was up but I have to say Oracle did replace the taillight and so far so good. They did say that if it happened again I would have to pay to replace it. I did have to go through the rigmarole of getting the build date which does require removing the light.

Dang normally I don't buy these sort of items. But it was a Christmas gift, and I have twice broken Jeep tail lights that stick out and get in the way of things. Not installing them until the weather warms up, hope they last. Guess I'll keep the trusty halogens in a box as a "backup". ;)

I might trust Mabett more than Oracle at this point.
I had an issue with the raptor style Mabett fog lights. I contacted them and they immediately sent me a brand new set for free. I was very impressed with that.

I dunno. I haven't blown one out (yet) but after seeing that they were hard to get i took a look when I was in o’reillies one day. No stock.

They also didn't have stock for the particular bulb i needed for an older car either - so maybe that particular store just has crappy inventory

I can find them online easy enough. I dunno about dealer - they aren’t my first choice for commodity parts so maybe they have boxes and boxes of them right now.

It just seems to be my luck that whatever part I need they wont have, or only have 2 when I need 3. But I admit I have a very low sample rate in backing up my specific observation about tail lights.
My local Carquest in my tiny town in nowhere Missouri can have anything you can imagine the next day if it’s not in stock at their store. Getting auto parts quickly is not an issue.

As much as we love to complain about Ford, OEM parts are almost always superior to aftermarket. The OEM slide out tailgate is fantastic. The hard top is an exception however!! TOR is better.
