I went with something similar but simple.

How did you route the wire into the cabin? I am going to do the same thing but the wire is much thicker than I thought it would be and not sure how to route it into the rear compartment area to hook it up?

I lead the wiring through the roof rack and down through the hole i drilled behind the rack mount
