Read the 4A Iowa thread
Ya think???

Several others have already acknowledged the similarities in these two "KAT" and "DAWG" posts.

lmao. are you into conspiracy theories or are you just a tad OCD with the bold and underlining text to try and make a bogus point? Slightly offended at the accusation. Regretful that I didn't get a sas but still love my bronco and learning.

Just a simple observation.

I added 4A(Sport) using forscan to my SAS. It did not have the option when I took delivery.

Once again, you added the sport GOAT mode, not 4A.

You already had 4A from the factory, the OP does not.

4A is a clutch in the driveline. If you don't have the AdvanTEK axle and T-Case with the clutch, you don't have it. To know, look at the GOAT dial; if you have a 4A button, you have it. If not, you don't.

Sport GOAT mode changes how the computer is tuned to deliver gas, shift points, etc. Not the same.

I just got an OBX and live in Massachusetts. I’ve been driving FWD and AWDs my whole life and didn’t think about this ahead of time except figured the Bronco has 4x4 and I’ll be fine. I noticed I don’t have 4A in mine and worried about general winter driving when the roads aren’t fully full of snow, but not fully dry either. Slippery mode isn’t really made for this condition so I assume regular normal is the way to go and that’s not FWD. I guess I’m worried about RWD.

This concern probably seems silly to those that have been driving 4x4 a long time.

Am I overthinking this and just being a snowflake? 🤘 Pun intended.
yeah your over thinking it
goat modes 4h and judgment

Mine is not 4A either. I've lived in many snowy places in my life. KC, Chicago, currently DC. I've had several AWD's (Subaru, 4Runner, Mercedes, VW). I've also had several RWD-only's. To be honest, the only times in the RWD's that I would have preferred AWD, were times when you would use the 4H in the Bronco anyway. AWD is nice in the rain, in my opinion, but not really needed in light snow.

I think you'll be just fine without it. In fact, in my opinion, it may save you in certain moment when you just want the tires to roll over the surface as freely as possible to not lose traction or direction/momentum (ice). I'm sure we've had those white-knuckle moments on an overpass in February!

For many years I drove a Jeep with no 4A here in the Canadian winter. You’ll be fine and find yourself shifting from 2H to 4H for a moment when feeling a loss of traction. No biggie, just lower your psi during snow storms, take it easy on the gas pedal, go slow when in doubt, have a GOOD winter or AT snow peak rated, and you will be fine. Never had any issues with my Load C Ko2s. My Load E Falken AT3W were good on the street, excellent for rock crawling, but sucked on snow wheeling. My current Load D Baja Boss AT is the best tire I’ve ever had!

Like others said, test your vehicle in an open parking lot during winter to get comfortable with it.

Have fun! ✌

Strange. When I go to sport mode the 4A light comes on. And it definitely shifts into awd when the tires start to spin in snow. Maybe I'm just imagining things. 🤷

That's how Sport mode works, when you use Sport it switches to 4A, which on the Badlands you have to add Sport mode with ForScan because the BL doesn't get it from the factory. Without 4A in Sport mode, it's 2H. You have 4A. Look at the GOAT dial, you have the 4A button. ForScan didn't add that... All you did was allow the computer to use Sport mode by being selectable from turning the GOAT dial.

Yes, Sport mode will engage 4A if you have the advanced transfer case.

But you didn't add 4A with forscan, you've always had it.
All you needed to do was press the 4A button on the goat dial.
All you did was add a different goat mode that happens to utilize 4A

I was just clearing up the confusion that 4A is something you can add with forscan, because it isn't. You either have it, or you don't.
In your case you've always had it, forscan didn't change that.
In the OP's case, they don't have it and cannot add it using forscan.
