just to update on the condition of my top after 1 month of ownership,I went to remove the drivers front top and put my fingers through the inner shell! this is no longer just a cosmetic issue as the structure itself is failing.I just hope it will hold together until Oct 21
That's just bad. I'm having a hard time seeing how this poor design made it to this point, passing all testing along the way, but is just a disaster once in the public's hands. Somebody, many somebodies, really screwed up.

Really lol, I think Ford already knows where to ship them and I think they have facilities and personal to perform the swap. They are referred to as Ford Dealers
Oh, I thought in your scenario, Ford washed their hands of a all responsibility making it an ideal solution for them. Can't have it both ways.

Ford is happy because they didn't have to do anything to solve the problem

Oct 21? Is that the date they are replacing your top or did ya pull that date out of thin air?
The FSA will come out with estimated parts availiability in October according to "oasis"

I wish they’d offer the option to ship your Bronco now if you sign and agree to drive up there to MAP and have the new top installed at a date and time they specify. I would take my Bronco now for a commitment to drive up there and save them shipping and let them change it when the new top is ready.

Look, at the very least, Ford should be offering a soft top option for delivery of the dirt mountain Broncos. If Ford said, "for $x of dollars, you can switch to a softtop" and "we will ship it out with the understanding that you are giving up replacement of your factory hardtop". I would be happy to have the option. As it stands, Ford is only saying, sorry, you're F'd and there are no other options. That's pathetic. There are other options and Ford could easily make other options available to us.

Offering the softtop would at a minimum partially clear Dirt Mountain storage complex. It would allow maximum flexibility to the customer. It would cost Ford NOTHING and have no negative impact on Ford's reputation. Finally, it would allow Ford to maximize the number of hardtop orders fulfilled this year.

So, like I said in my previous thread, there are better COA's, but the Ford is relying on their apologists, who are very vocal naysayers, to tell us what Ford is unwilling to say... "We don't care what you think, this is the deal, now suck it up".

That's cosmetic, it's going to just buff out, you heard Ford... This is ONLY a cosmetic issue!

I'd think Ford played through all possible scenarios and found their solution to be the most effective in cost and in replacing these roofs in bulk, not drip drip here and there all over the country. Besides, it might not even be legal for them to sell something they know to be defective.

It's a crappy situation for all, but aside of waiting it out or walking, there's not much to do.

I do wonder though if those that suddenly panic about "lot rot" ever asked or even wondered how long the cars they bought in the past sat around in one or the other lot? Weeks, months, first at the factory, then on a train or carrier then on an other lot and finally on the dealers main lot. Nothing to worry about at all. Mine will always be outside unless I happen to park in a city garage. I don't expect it to "rot" in my driveway anymore than I'd expect "lot rot" from that sand pit. And I sure don't expect the MIC tops, old or new, to leak like crazy just sitting there, why would anyone want to buy something like that?
