If they will cover you OEM top under warranty, ask if you can pay the difference for an upgrade.
They won’t do that. Ford has never and will never do something like this.
If I blow up my 2.7, I can’t just pay the difference for a 3.0 (trust me, if I could, I already would have and I work for Ford lol)
Just not how warranty works.

The only possible thing you could do, is have the new top warrantied, then sell it for money towards a painted top.

This would make the most sense to me, not only for the owner but for Ford as well since I think history is showing that the painted version is coming back for warranty replacement far less than the MIC is. Considering Ford is in the media for the catastrophic warranty costs to their profit margin, you'd think someone other than the intern with the Chevy in the parking lot would point this out as a way to stop some of that bleeding. Give the car buyer full credit for the cost of a new MIC toward the purchase of a stronger painted version instead...
That would be to easy....

Yep + 1,000,000,000,000,000 to infinity.

I'd love to see that chargeback lol.

I was mislead by this thread title thinking the unachievable was achieved :frown:. Improper use of past-tense.
Really

Sorry for the subterfuge…I just added a question mark to the title. I’ll do better.

I wonder if anyone has had these new piano black tops crack yet? Would they look like a broken phone screen?

I saw this at the mall (naturally), a Badlands with gloss black top, I had to park my "peasant-spec" BB next to it with MIC top. They gotta get finger prints and scratch's easily. Odd it was on the most capable model not called a BRapter. Probably a soccer mom that got upsold an unusual spec that wont go off road with it.
