I have seen multiple threads on the MIC tops cracking around the windows and in various places. I'm wondering if the production process is any better on the shadow black painted tops or if people are having trouble with those as well?

Well they’ve only been out for a few months, but I haven’t seen any reported issues yet.
They’re completely different tops compared to the MIC top.

Yeah I saw the top on a Wildtrak locally and it honestly looks great with the gloss black grille of the WT. The MIC cracking issues really have me reconsidering a Bronco altogether to be honest. I can't imagine those being that easy to get supply wise even if they're warrantied. And there seems to be a LOT of reports of them cracking, especially in extreme temp locations, which is where I live.

I think the problem is a little over amplified online. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of MIC tops have had issues, but there are far more that have had none. My 22 hasn’t had a single issue or any cracks and it’s outside 24/7 in Chicagoland weather. I also work at a dealership and we‘e only had maybe a handful come in for top concerns.

Even if you have an issue, MIC tops are not difficult to get warrantied. They’re pretty readily available now days.

That being said, the painted top looks to be much nicer. It’s just way too early to say how well it’ll hold up. I would guess it’ll be fine though.

I have a ’24 Heritage Shadow black body with white top. It’s a different top (fiberglass vs mic)- no problem yet.
