It gets the job done. I did the MARS mod by myself. Having GMRS and HAM available in one radio is clutch. The FTM400 programmer will even preload all the GMRS frequencies with the proper transmit power for each.
SSSSSSHHHHHHHH!!!!
Don't even mention Amateur and GMRS on here!!!
I did, and Nannies came out of the woodwork telling me how Ham radios are not type accepted by the FCC, blah, yada, etc and half of them are probably running BowWoWFangs/TYT/AnyTurd radios.
The neuterfication of America continues to amaze me!!!
Oh! My particular depravity has recently doubled...

Nice setup! My reasoning is that as long as you’re sticking within the band plans and harassing people you’re in the clear. I have a tech license and a GMRS license.

Ya, I've been licensed since about 1991, ran hi-powered (500w) HF mobile out of my 1985 F-250 for about 18 years; what a H-O-O-T!!!
Not ABOUT to try that with The Low-Q Bronco...I ordered a nice simple truck...this thang has about 40 computers in it.
So far, with 50w VHF/UHF and 100w HF (but not at the same time), the truck doesn't even know those radios exist!!!
73s de W5DGV!!!

Hello, just in case someone else stumbles upon this thread for "Check 4x4" error, I've got 3 different errors: Check 4x4, Service Vehicle Soon, Drive Mode Not Available - due to: "the AWD module was left loose and it was periodically losing ground."

Honestly, the very first thing I do when I'm having any kind of issues is go around the entire vehicle to every exposed ground point and check for tightness. It sucks that the legacy of the older vehicle systems still has us run these extensive wiring harnesses and modules with so many connections that could flake out.

I'm having this issue now, one month after my 3yr warranty of course. Where is the AWD module I can check?

I just got the Check 4x4 light of doom, 2024 2 door Badlands non-squatc, with 4500 miles. I did install the receiver hitch & trailer wiring module. Is there anything there that might set it off? All I have added otherwise is the ProCal 4 & tune. Months ago. I'm supposed to be leaving for Colorado on an overlanding trip tomorrow, so of course this happens.

Engine bay passenger side right behind the air box. Up high and easy to get at

Well, yeah, lots of things.

First step is to pull the DTC codes with a OBD scanner. If you don’t have one more major auto parts shops will do it for free.

Second step is to unhook the battery a bit, connect back up and see if it clears, and put your battery on a charger overnight. Good chance the computer is just confused and a reboot and top off on the battery will fix it.

If it does come back, pull the DTC codes again, and post the codes you got the first time and this time. Wheel speed sensors, loose harnesses to T-Case or FAD, bad grounds, or just too much wheel slip in loose conditions can cause this. But the codes point to where you need to go

Thanks for taking the time and the tips. I have odb link and the torque app. It says no codes are stored. Message has been random but had not come back in a week now. I'll check all connections and if it comes back, I'll read the code then. Odd it's not stored. Sometimes it came on right when a started the bronco and other times while driving and then would clear while still driving. I'll post codes if they come back. Thanks again
