They can be tricky and a bit intimidating the first time you do it.

The key is to be gentle, but deliberate with your movements. Very carefully, reach behind and with a soft pinching movement, squeeze carefully. Make sure you support the front with your other hand. Being soft and gentle is key here. You might fumble about, don't worry. Rub the front a bit as you find the sweet spot with your other hand. They will harden up as you work it, this is normal and an indication you're doing it right. As they release, keep a soft, firm grip and slowly lower them down.

Congratulations. You've earned this. Now make sure you bask in the soft glow and soak up the beauty your persistence has revealed.
Dude……

This thread turned into everything we had hoped for, and then some.

Well done, B6G.

HA! I had the same issue. Know what I found out? I called KC and asked for help and you wouldn't believe what they told me...

You need one of these on your keychain.

From the top, hook it with the longer edge facing the rear of the light and the covers will pop right off.

Alternatively, throw some amber covers on 'em. That's what I did for my front bumper.

Mine came with the key chain referenced above and it makes it SO much easier to get them off.

I can tell you, I'm one of those "first try success" guys that goes, oh you can't get these off?!? Pop! Well, I guess you weren't trying hard enough! Oh I know, you loosened it for me...

Then I never can get them off again. It's a curse!

Is there any rubbing from the brackets on the lower painted trim of the grill? I have this installed on mine and a little nervous because I have seen a user have issue.

Ok, I have to admit that lights that require a bottle opener have me intrigued.
