My Bronco already has the lane assistance and the all around cameras. Is it just a software change to add adaptive cruise control? My wife's car has it and we really like it.

Let me summarize: No.
If you are sure you know better then you wouldn’t be asking - you’d be telling us how you did it (and your strategy to deal with software updates from Ford).

The cameras are not used for the ACC, that I know of. There's a radar unit in the front bumper.

The camera in the windshield is used for lane assist. The other cameras are just so you don't hit too many things while parking. :geek:

Very slightly. All it really does is share data it receives with the CCM and helps with vehicle recognition.

Had ACC on many previous vehicles thought I got it on the 2020 Mustang convertible got a deal on with 6000 miles only to discover the 2020 bundli g was changed and did not have it.

Missed it a lot on scenic highway drives and congesteted freeways totally destresses it all bring back the enjoyment lost with very high traffic density and 3rd world drivers.

I know it's a different make altogether, but I got a 2020 Bimmer without. It was one of the last new cars on lots anywhere of the last model year.

Dealers and shops wouldn't touch it when I asked them about adding ACC. My thoughts are that they are thinking "If we add ACC aftermarket and an accident happens if it goes wrong, we're going to get sued" - or they just didn't want to deal with what a pita it would be to add it. I looked into doing it myself and WAY above my pay grade (which isn't high to begin with admittedly).

I ended up trading it in for a 2019 with more miles, ACC, and interior that I liked better. It was actually kinda funny. A BMW dealership gave me a straight up trade. The woman in the back of the dealership trying to sell the warranties and tire protection BS was like 'Wait, let me get this straight. You're giving us a 2020 440 with 6k miles and we're giving you a 2019 440 with 23k miles?". Me: "Yup!"

It CAN be added, with a combination of hard parts, wiring, and software changes - at least guys have done it on Super Duties over on that forum. Not sure what all would be needed for a Bronco. I'd say it's not impossible, but will take time and cash.
